I just came back from Disneyland today, the highlights from my photos today:
A guest was trying to enter the security check area with a large amount of food in his bag. The security people advised him he could not bring in all that food and to go to the picnic area. The man refused to take no for an answer, and then tried to push his way through the check point. The security checkpoint people called for help on the radio; Anaheim P.D. and Disneyland Security came racing over. In the mean time, the whole security check line was halted. When I took the photo of Anaheim P.D. interviewing the man, they were telling him that he must leave the property, and the police escorted him out of the gate. Disneyland security wanted him arrested for trespassing, but the police just escorted him out. There were Anaheim P.D. officers in plain clothes next to the man, but I chose not to get them in the picture. The park was very packed today, and there was an EMS call at the top of the tree house, the paramedics were racing to the top, to help a guest.
The wall behind the new Rabbit sculpture has been defaced, it looks like a kid scribbled with pencil all over the wall.
Well enjoy the photos, the park was really busy today.
Regards,
Chris

All I can say, that place was crazy today, if this is a precursor of what summer will bring, its going to be a busy summer season at Disneyland.

It was pretty busy when we got into DL about 6 pm. I was there mostly taking pictures and we got onto three attractions tonight which can be good for us.

What was up with the Jazzercise parade, now when I saw that, I couldn't stop laughing, but it was a good time. I was reading their T shirts but the graphics didn't say much.

So the guy had a large cooler with wheels and a handle that was more than a strap. That's a lot of no-no's in one package. The only way he could've added to it was if he had his kids in a wagon instead of a stroller. ;)

Man, what an idiot... I'm glad Disney took action and forced him away! I can't believe he thought by "pushing through" nothing would happen to him, I hope his vacation was ruined! I doubt it though, he probably got in his car; cut off 5 other cars getting on the freeway and then drove 20 MPH in the fast lane cussing all the way back to his home.

Yeah, I'm sure that would have ruined his vacation and made you even happier, now that someone else experienced hardship. I mean, how dare the guy try to bring a lot of food into Disneyland, right? Anyone who does that deserves to have their vacation ruined and their head blown off with a shotgun, right?

You were pretty gleeful thinking about what happened to that guy.

Yeah, I was there on Wednesday and again on Friday and thought it was even more crowded than when I went those same 2 days a couple of weeks ago. It is going to be another busy summer! I don't mind!

More like, How dare the guy try to push past security. What on earth did he think they'd say, "Oh, well,he's pushing past...we'd better just let him go then."

Not a jerk for trying to bring in food, a jerk for not complying with the rules and making a big deal about it.

Thanks for the pics, Chris!

As for the White Rabbit statue, it does look just like some little kids got ahold of a pencil and their parents weren't paying attention to them.

I'm a bit concerned with Tink in photo 181, she just doesn't look like Tink to me...

I mean, sure, the guy's a dillhole for thinking he was above the rules and could just shove his way past, but wishing him ill will because of it is sorta petty, IMHO.

I don't think Wesley or majority of us wishes physical harm to that guy with his above statement.. No mention of a shotgun, death or pain lol.. I know things got pretty heated with the whole 2-fer vandalism thread - but please don't think we are all mean-spirited! :)

I'm glad Disney refused the guy entry to the Parks. He needs to play by the rules and not think he is above the law for some strange reason. I certainly don't wish him bodily harm or suffering in any way, but I'm glad Disney doesn't feel like it needs to cater to self-absorbed jerks like him. I'm sure he was less than pleasant to the polite 60 year olds Disney usually has working those bag check stations, which probably added fuel to Disney managements desire to not allow him on property for the day. And, worse case scenario, even if he had a less than courteous CM telling him he couldn't bring in all that food, that still doesn't give him the right to barge through security and refuse to play by the rules.

He can try his stunts and "I'm more important than the rules" attitude somewhere else. Although I doubt if he tried that sort of thing at Knott's or Six Flags he would get better treatment than he received at Disney; he would probably get a less courteous invite to leave property at other amusement parks or entertainment venues.

The funny thing is that he looks well dressed and rather normal at first glance, and I'm sure he could afford to buy the $10 chicken lunch at the Plaza Inn without taking a second mortgage out. Too bad the guy is an idiot.

By the way, great pics Chris! It looks like it's going to be a long, hot, busy summer at Disneyland! But..... um..... is it just me, or does Tinkerbell look like she needs a nose job? Did someone call in sick for the parade that day?

I was exaggerating just to make my point.

It seems there are many discourteous guests I see at Disneyland these days, who feel they don't have to comply with any rules. I remember when I was a kid and Disneyland had a dress code, they would turn you away if they didn't like the way you dressed. :) But the other thing which happened yesterday which really got me going, was the fountain at Rancho de Zocaol Restaurante, children were washing their hands and even drinking from the fountain there. I saw one kid drinking from the fountain, I got up and found his father, I told his father that the place has a rodent problem and the fountain is where the rats drink, he sort of shrugged at me. Then I saw this lady with her daughter come up to the fountain, and she encouraged her daughter to put her hands in the fountain. I told the lady of the rodent problem and how the water supports them, she said ,"oh you are kidding." Then after these people left, I saw a bird dive into the fountain, do it's business in the water, then take off. Yes I have seen rats drink out of that fountain at night at the restaurant, I never had a rat jump on my table before, but others here have had it happen. What are these people thinking, since the fountain is at Disneyland, it's magic or something?

Yowza!

On days of depression, I drive around the MICKEY AND FRIENDS parking structure at 16 m.p.h. (posted limit 14 m.p.h.).

That's my way of "sticking it to The Man."

I think we would be hard pressed to find anyone on this forum who hasn't taken food in to the park. But to bring an entire cooler on wheels, HELLO! Then to think that you can push through security, well anywhere they have security and you try to push through you should expect more than a slap on the wrist.
Thanks for sharing the photos, I am browsing them now.

I really wish people would STOP talking about the rat and mice problem. I swear I am going to walk around like a nervous wreck the next time I am at the park. AND forget about eating outside, I would have to be hauled off by firemen (hopefully cute ones) if a rodent jumped on my table while I was eating!

Re the man with the cooler - First off, I'm absolutely glad that they escorted him off-property. Which is what leads me to my rhetorical question: How important is a cooler of food that it was worth it to this guy to puff up his feathers and take on Disney security and Anaheim PD?

I don't think there's any need to wish the man ill because he's obviously living in a pretty unsettled existance with his tightie-whities so bunched up that he can become totally irrational and cause the police to get involved.... over an ice chest.

Yowsa.

Thanks for making this choice!!! It's good for all of us if those protecting us "under cover" remain that way to protect us from the bad guys. :) :) :)

I read someplace that on a busy day, Disneyland has several dozen under covers working inside of the park. I suspect that the under covers also watch the employees as well, so we should all feel better knowing that someone is watching us, we just don't know who it is. :)

I remember being at Disneyland several years ago, I am thinking it was 1998, first time DH and I went together. And we were in line to get a photo with Pooh and a fight broke out in line for Splash, just at the entrance of the building, and there were undercovers there in an instant. One guy even jumped out of line for Pooh photos, he was with his wife and kids, to get over there. I am not sure that he was undercover Disney security or what, but he was flashing a badge, might have been a cop. I thought that would be a cool way for undercover guys to really hide, be there with their family.
