I am not sure if someobody else posted this yet. Shelley and I just got home from DL. All the new effects in the attic were turned on this afternoon per the CM! The pictures and the new bride are awesome! She is really creapy! We rode it 3 times. Yeah!!!!

Darn it!! I was there tonight and I meant to go on it but we decided to do BTM instead. Great excuse to go back tomorrow! ;)

Photos taken by a MiceChat member, Crazy Legs can be found here...

I saw her pictures. My suggestion is not to look at them! Be suprised, the effects are only visible on the ride. The pictures (though nice) don't even do it justice!!!

This made me really excited for the POTC refurb. I am going to try and be good and not read any spoilers for that so I can go and be suprised again!

I have to say, it was pretty awesome! At one point, Melissa kind of yelled and told me to look at something, and well, let's just say that I freaked out! I screamed!! The effects are really good I think. There is just so much to take in while you're in the attic, you need to go on a couple of times to focus on different parts. We went on three times and I felt that we could go on even more and still find new things. Loved it!

Is it too scary for little ones?

05-03-2006, 09:53 PM
Not any more than it used to be.

05-03-2006, 09:56 PM
does any one have a pic?

Is it too scary for little ones?

Saw it tonight and personally thought it was far less scary for the little ones. Overall, I thought the effects were amazingly well done but they do feel a bit out of place in the context of all the other "old school" effects used in the Mansion.

I agree with you Steve, it does make the rest of the mansion seem very old.

CrazyLegs over at MiceChat has three videos of the Attic section

This is the first pass, with the video camera in regular mode

Then she took two more passes with the video camera in Night Mode

Of course, watching the videos is one big spoiler

Changes are also coming to the Seance Room to help tie in the new Attic scene.

The Hitchhiking Ghosts change is also on track, and is scheduled to be the next area they will be working on during the over-night shift.

And some folks didn't believe Al Lutz when he said the Bride was going to get an Axe.....

05-04-2006, 08:58 AM
I didn't even notice the axe until the third time and the whole time I was thinking, "I guess Al was wrong"! Guess I was wrong!

There is just so much going on in there, it is hard to take it all in on just one pass.

Darkbeer - I forgot about the changes to the seance room, I can't wait for that and the ones at the end of the ride!

05-04-2006, 10:13 AM
Oh I'm just so excited I can't wait until tomorrow! Down to the final trip countdown.

I can't believe this was unveiled the day after we left. Drat. The new bride looks cool, but from the video, it sounds like the heart pounding sound is gone [which makes sense, given the new image]. I have to say, I loved the old bride with the red thumpy heart, and I loved hearing the pounding as you entered the attic. It seems weird not to hear that sound while watching the video. I can't believe I got to see her on her last day. sniff, sniff.

I've got a few pics of the bride:

Whoa! Daddy B! She looks pretty realistic!

05-04-2006, 02:33 PM
Nice Job DaddyB! Those are probably the first pictures I have seen that even come remotely close to how she really looks!

05-04-2006, 04:28 PM
The effects are really cool, we rode it yesterday afternoon. I wanted to go back on it today, but the kids were melting down and it was time to go home.

05-04-2006, 05:14 PM
Arggh we must wait until August! It looks very cool.

I've been away from this scene for too long. I didn't even realize they were working on HM. Looks pretty darn good judging by the video. Too bad the bride's face looks so odd.

Love it as well!! Too bad the heart thumping is gone! Maybe it will return! I hope.

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday a good friend of mine and I went for a Trip to Disneyland
and walking around wondering what to do we decided to pay a visit
to the H.M.
What was our surprise??? ... Stunning scary totally
NEW EFFECTS with a demonic feel to it
The whole Bride Room/Section of the ride has been upgraded with
stunning new Paintings showing moving pictures just like we are
acostumed to see in Harry Potter Films.
And at the end: The Brideeeee!!! at her most vivid image!.

Check it out!, Here's the video (a little dark and short).

I say, Mr. Toad!
(Or, as the Wind in the Willows characters would have said, "I say, Toad!")

My impression?

Didn't the moving portraits photograph well?
That would have been a sight.
Is it different from the way the ballroom shows its ghost dualists, turning on each other to fire their pistols?

The video is 3/4 black nothingness, and 1/4 bride.

You may want to re-edit the title. "Hounted" is not a word.

Hey Mr. Toad! I went on the ride as well and it was pretty scary!!!! I was more scared because it got me by surprise!!!

The video is fine.. I mean hey it's a Dark Ride I understand the issues that we can't see it that fine, and I suppose it was kind of quick ...

Thanks for the video!!!:p
