I know, I know, I'm obsessing. But this is our first time at DL Hotel and our last trip to DL for awhile (we're moving out of state) so I want it to be in line with my expectations.

We have a king bed standard view room reserved at the DLH. What can I expect to see out of my room window? Will the room have a daybed or an armchair and footstool? Are the king bed rooms usually located on a corner, anything like that? (at some of the WDW resorts, a king bed room also has preferred location)

Any other special things I should look for or do while at the DLH?

Standard views are generally a low floor and not much out the window. King rooms have a a comfy chair that can make into a single sleeper. They are not in any specific place.

If you haven't done so already, do request to stay in the Sierra tower. It's closest to the park. Beyond that, you can request a specific location and depending on capacity they will accomodate you.

Sierra Tower is mostly view rooms (pool/resort view). Standard rooms are mostly parking lot view. I'd try for Marina Tower which has a view of Mickey & Friends parking structure behind which is where you can still see the fireworks. I stayed in a non-view room in the Bonita Tower once and didn't stay at the DLH for 18 years because of it.

We have eaten at Goofy's Kitchen before, which tower is the one you go through to get to Goofy's?

Goofy's Kitchen? I'd consider that as being closely associated with the Tower of Terror. ;)

But for happy families...it's actually connected to the Marina Tower (which is the one where room registration is at). :)

Opus, after our last visit there two weeks ago, I couldn't agree with you more.

Not sure how much help this is but here is a picture of my DW and DDs in our room at the DLR (we had just arrived and hadn't even started to unload our vehicle). Now this wasn't a King Size bed (as you can tell) but it was 2 doubles instead. The room was actually larger than we anticipated which was good considering we had a crib and a full size stroller to put in the room as well. (Sorry I didn't take more pics around the room)

This picture is of our "view" out the "balcony". Not really much to look at but then again we never really spent much time in the room.

This last picture is again from off our "balcony" and looking right, towards the parks. You can see the Matterhorn off in the distance.

Hopefully this gives you some information you were looking for.

I'm glad no one obsesses here. :)

Thanks for the info.

And, thanks for the photos too. :)

So, I think I read somewhere that you can't fax in a room request, is this true?

What????!!!! Why do you say that??

cfrith...my attempt at humor was a reference to the "terror" a restaurant full of screaming kids can instill in the heart of many adults.

In other words...I wouldn't get near that place again. Not with a ten foot battle lance!
