A friend of mine gave me a henly style shirt that is rather old , a bit yellowish, and it has Disneyland Hotel printed on the front and a picture of an "military" type person on the back with the words "Sgt. Prestons(above the picture) Yukon Saloon & Dancehall (below the picture)". She thought I'd know something about it but I don't have a clue. Anyone???????

You might see if you can locate this book (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm050817lt).

Have you done any online searches (Google, Ebay)?

Sgt. Preston's was a bar/watering hole in the old building that used to front on West Street, which was torn down to build Downtown Disney. It was just west of the Monorail track, which is still in the same place.

Sgt. Preston of the Yukon was a radio character, a Mountie I believe, owned by the Wrather Corporation, which also owned the hotel until the '80s.

Does this help?

Yes, he was a Mountie. It was "Sgt. Preston of the Yukon" and he had a dog made of iron named "Yukon King". Some think it was the inspiration for "Dudley Do-Right"

I loved that show.

And tod and I spent a few hot afternoons holed up at Sgt. Preston's waiting for the sun to drop a bit lower on the horizon...

You can buy tapes/CDs of this and other old radio shows from Radio Spirits. My next order will include a collection of the show "Escape" which has several episodes starring Paul Frees. And, of course, some of the actors from Amos n Andy did voices for SOTS. I work in my car, and have 100s of hours of old radio in addition other audio entertainment (Alan Partridge later today). Fun stuff, since even when it's bad, it's still enjoyable for the cheeseyness factor.

Cheers.
