Was wondering how high the gas prices are driving down the 5. Prices are about $2.35 around town.

Thanks

You're welcome, if you've made the trip very often at all then this is 'doh' advice, but do NOT wait til you're right at Grapevine to fill up. The last decent price will be at Buttonwillow, if you miss it and have to get gas right at the grapevine or in Castaic you're going to be paying the highest price per gallon on the entire route.

You didn't mention which grade you need, but I need Premium (91/92 octane) and paid between $2.79 and $3.09 on our last trip two weeks ago.

You may want to check out http://www.californiagasprices.com/

You can look for the areas you will be driving. They are usually pretty accurate.

I live out by Riverside and gas is usually about 10 cents a gallon cheaper by DL, that is if you fill up somewhere on Ball Road. Down by Katella or South on Harbor it's usually more!

There's a great Arco that's near the DLR on Brookhurst St. and Ball Rd. that has the lowest grade for around $2.35 or so. They also have a really huge mini-mart and also a great drive-through carwash that's $6.00 for the "Works".

Amen Amen Amen Amen !!!
Grapevine gas is mucho $$$$$$.
We always gas up at Buttonwillow so we don't have to
think about gas over the 'vine. :fez:

Gas in Lost Hills today averaged about 2.45. The Flying J at Frazier Park/Mt. Pinos is usually a fair price also.
