We will be there next week. We do not have a car, and are staying at the Desert Inn. I would love to find somewhere I could run out for good coffee. I just saw Ramada Maingate has a new coffee house. Has Anyone given it a go yet?

What do you consider good coffee?

There's a new coffee shop on the same side of the street as Desert Inn.
I forget the name..but it's a few doors down. It's a bamboo cabana type name or something...heck I forgot. Coffee is good on main street bakery though.l

Oh heck...what is the name of the new coffee shop ...arrrgggghhhh I was just there a month ago.:fez:

Might that be the one on the property of Ramada Maingate?
Yes, I like the Main St bakery too. It's not open for when I want to get it.

Coming from Seattle where there are 2 to 3 espresso stands on every corner, we were surprised how few coffee places there were. I thought it had to do with climate but even in Las Vegas there are Starbucks all over the strip. We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn and I made the hike to the Starbucks inside the Hilton every morning. It was about a 15 minute walk one way.

I have tried the coffee from the coffee lovers basket, the kind you can buy at the park, in the coffee maker. Even that stuff isn't that good. I'm very spoiled when it comes to coffee. So, this time I think I'll try bringing with me the round filter kind from Starbucks for the one-cup coffee makers (it says 4 cup but makes 1 mug) at the Resort hotel.

There's coffee in Blue Ribbon Bakery (Main Street) and also in Market House (Main Street). I think both are fair, (and I am a Seattleite too) and you don't have to make a long trek to find it! :)

Both of those places are very good. I need something first thing in the morning before the parks open. I'm going to try Le Brea and the new place at Ramada Maingate. Thanks all!!! the place near The DL hotel isn't too bad either. Its just a little far from my hotel. How can I walk all that way without having my morning coffee first!! :fez:

The blue ribbon bakery is where I get my Americano fix. It isn't on the menu, but they will make it. My only complaint was the ridiculous price. They charge they same as a latte', which isn't reasonable since water is cheaper than milk. I'm from seattle, to not have americanos on the menu is bad enough, but I've never seen them priced out as lattes.

I did point out the 2 coffee drinks are completely different and should have different prices, but the people who ring up the order have said it's the only way they can price it. And in the end, I'm so happy to get my americano it isn't worth fussing over.

OK Tink360 - as a latte lover who often wonders what some of the other coffee drinks on menu are  - What is an Americano?

Thanks in advance for enlightening me:)

What is an Americano?"An Americano is a single shot of espresso with 6 to 8 ounces of hot water added. This term was originally devised as a sort of insult to Americans who wanted their espresso diluted."

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my sister says the best coffee in the Disneyland Resort (hotels, parks, DTD) can be found at Hagan Daazs in DTD. She drinks mainly mochas.

As stan4d_steph explained it's espresso & water - basically just a very good cup of coffee (to me anyhow). I always have a shot or 2 of one of the sugar free syrups in it. If you want something extra good & don't care about sugar content, have you tried a caramel macchiato?

That's rediculous! As a former Starbucks barista I can say with authority that what they SHOULD have charged you for is the number of shots you ordered, as the water costs them nothing. Oh, well, I knwo how these things go. If Mickey wanted to add a quarter to my morning white-mocha I wouldnt cry much.

Ah.....you need coffee PRE-opening. My mistake! haha! I understand, and luckily, the hotel where we normally stay (Homewood Suites) has a Starbuck's right there next to it. :)

When I moved to Seattle from Phoenix, 14 years ago, I was so weirded out by all of these coffee places! ha! Drive through COFFEE? WOW, that was such a new concept. Now, it's taking over the country. You know, coffee & grunge...our claims to fame! haha!
