I just read Al's report. Agh!
What is going on? How will this affect the events that have already been scheduled?
Do any of the CM's out there have any idea? Have you seen any new schedules? I am going by what was on the ABC site as of yesterday and now I don't know.
Help! It opens at 8 a.m. but some rides will open at 7:30? What does all of this mean? I am driving up from San Diego and now I have no idea how early I should leave.
Any information will be helpful.
Thanks!!!
MouseWife,
I was at the park today, and there is yet another planning meeting to be held on Wednesday, to hash out final details. As of today, I was told that there would be some form or wristband distribution, but there were no firm plans yet for where or when.
Here is the schedule I have for this weekend, from the ABC website. Guest Relations says that this is the most current, accurate information. IF anything changes, you can be sure that I'll post it here. I'm hoping that we'll get the final schedule Friday, but they said that they may not hand it out until the actual event day.
All My Children, Saturday, April 6th - General Schedule:
Casting Call (Golden Dreams Theatre): 10:30, 12:45, 3:00, 4:15
Q&A (Live! Show) (Golden State Amphitheatre): 11:00, 1:00, 3:15, 5:15
Millionaire Show (Millionaire Play It!): 12:00, 3:00, 5:00
Cast Photo Shoot Cavalcade of Stars (Parade Route): 1:45
All My Children, Sunday, April 7 - General Schedule:
Casting Call (Golden Dreams Theatre): 1:00, 2:45, 4:00, 5:15
Q&A (Live! Show) (Golden State Amphitheatre): 11:00, 1:00, 2:45, 5:00
Millionaire Show (Millionaire Play It!): 12:00, 3:00, 5:00
Cast Photo Shoot Cavalcade of Stars (Parade Route): 1:45
Again, if anything changes, or as we learn more details, I'll let you know here.
AVP
Another Update,
I just spoke with both the event services group and press and publicity for Disneyland. If DCA is opening any earlier than 10:00, they don't know about it. And there *may* be wristbands used, but possibly only for the people attending the Breakfast at the Bistro on Sunday. (The standard "everything is subject to change without notice" seems to be getting a real workout today!)
According to the big, official master schedule I have just received a copy of, the park is open 10 - 9 each day. There is a "Cavalcade of the Stars" scheduled for 1:45 both days. Sunday's Breakfast at the Bistro is supposed to feature David Canary, John Callahan, Jill Larson, Susan Lucci, Alicia Minshew and Eden Riegel. (Everything is subject to change without notice!)
It looks like once you get into the park, it's just a matter of who you want to see, and where they happen to be. There are 4 autograph sessions starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (Each session is supposed to be 45 minutes only):
Rebecca Budig - ABC Soap Opera Bistro Entrance
J. Eddie Peck - Soap Link
Julia Barr - Sun Plaza
Michael Knight - Paradise Bay
The first real "event" Saturday is the first Casting Call, with John Callahan, at 10:30 in the Golden Dreams theater. More events begin at 11:00, and from there, it looks like an absolute circus.

AVP, the official disneyland.com website just update it's hours of operation this afternoon. It now has DCA opening at 8:00am on weekends in April, just like Al's update said. Up until just a few hours ago, the disneyland.com website had DCA opening at 10:00am. Maybe someone in the website department read Al's update this morning and thought "Jeepers! We'd better update the official site too!"
I can't believe that Disneyland's Press & Publicity department, and the Special Event department running this promotion didn't have the updated info that Al Lutz did!
Oh, wait. Actually, I think I can kind of believe that. Sometimes "official" Disneyland is hopelessly behind the curve and misinformed about things.

Thanks for all of the info. See why I am so confused?
I did call the hotel and the trip package place to ask for help and they couldn't give me any. They did confirm the early opening and they said probably the events would change.
They suggested I check on soapnet.com. Well, as of this morning, no change. I would wish that people who booked packages could get some sort of special treatment. Like maybe first dib at pictures? {the glossies}
I would appreciate any and all of your updates, AVP,TP2000 and anyone with something.
Off to search those sites now.
MouseWife,
Check your PM box - I sent you a TON of information!
TP2000, thanks for checking into that. As you can see from what MouseWife and I are hearing, there is some definite "right hand, meet the left hand" stuff going on.

Geez, now Mousewife has ME all worked up and nervous too!
I hope she has fun. I'm going to stop by on Saturday afternoon just to check it all out myself.

LOL
Glad to hear you are coming by. We need more people from here to go and help to document the craziness.
You should be nervous!!! I think it will be crazy! Imagine a bunch of women {okay, mostly, AMC has all types of fans} going crazy about a bunch of people that they have only seen on a t.v. screen.
I am afraid.
But, I have to admit, I did bow down to the pressure and I booked a room for Friday night. I am going to go to the hotel and see if they have anything for me that night and I will go and bug them, I mean ask them early Saturday morning what is up.
{I didn't book an extra night at the G.C., too high. If I had done it when I first booked the package it would have been cheaper. Now through the ABC thing I can get it for $210. where the hotel is offering it for $310.!!!}
AVP is currently braving the insanity at DCA and wanted me to pass along some updates for everyone:
For those wanting to get an autograph with Susan Lucci, they are requiring wrist bands. They are limiting it to 130 people per day, and you must get your writst band outside DCA prior to park opening. The first people to get wrist bands this morning (Saturday) arrived at 5AM. If you want them on Sunday, be sure to get there early.
Fast Passes for Millionaire are being limited to one per person for the entire day. You can request the Fast Pass for the star you want to see, but they are going quickly. AVP recommends getting to Millionaire first to get the the pass you want, then head to the rest of the park.
Cameron Mathison is appearing on Sunday only.
Some other sites (including SoapNet) have been reporting that there was going to be a photo shoot at 1:45 each day. That has been replaced by a Cavalcade of Stars at 1:45 along the corridor. The Scheduled published earlier on MousePlanet is correct.
If you want to eat at Soap Opera Bistro, make reservations first thing in the morning. They filled up in two hours today. They are requesting a minimum of a $15 purchase per person, and they actively enforcing a one-hour per party time limit. Don't plan on lingering over your meal.

Millionaire Fastpass sold out at 10:22 AM. The parking structure is filling up fast, and I have tickets for the 5:15 showing of BLAST! God help us all.

Wow. It was busy, eh? My legs are sooooo tired.
We did go both days but left early on Sunday.
{I tried to figure out if I saw you. Checking name tags and such. }
I am a happy camper, I got to see almost everyone I wanted to.
I heard that they will do it next year again? !
I can't wait to read your review and to see it on SoapNet.com.
Uncle Dick, did anything really wild happen? I didn't hear of anything myself, but I usually stay away from trouble. ;)
I was disappointed not to have seen everyone that I wanted. The lines were long and limited. The celebs were in high demand.
The women were all more beautiful in person and the men, well, they were definitely gorgeous. ;)
