Okay, we are going to DL FEb 8,9, 10. We are going to get a SoCa Sel. Annual pass since it is only $5 more than a 3 day hopper at the military base. BUT here is the problem. For the same price as the annual we can get the 3 day hopper from Disneyland with the Early Entry.
I was thinking of just getting that and then upgrading on thursday after we get in early. But we are eating at Blue Bayou on WEdnesday, so I kinda wanted the discount.
So question, does this sound like a good plan???? Can I get the early entry but still upgrade on WEdnesday? I am so confued! LOL
TIA

You can upgrade any day as long as your ticket media is still valid. The AP value must be more than the ticket value though.

No, you wont be able to upgrade on Wednesday and have EE on Thursday (unless you are staying at one of the disney properties). One of you could upgrade so you could get the AP discount at BB, and that person could just not attend EE with the rest of the party. Or you could change your BB to another day.

Do you think it will be really busy those days that it will be worth EE? And being that we are going with an almost 3 year old for her bday, we will be there 3 days, it EE really going to be worth it???

Its really a guess these days. The crowds for the 50th are so hard to predict. I would guess, looking at the schedule, that its not going ot be packed. But, because of that, your wed/ thur. hours are pretty short. The park is open 10-8 those days. An extra hour would be really nice, and it is the best time to ride the fantasy land rides- and with a 3 year old you'll want to hit most of those!
I dont know if the couple dollars you would save at BB would be worth giving up that hour or not. Isnt it a 10% savings? So its going to be about $5-7 savings for a party of 3. Personally, I would do EE on Thrusday and move your res. at BB to Thursday lunch. You'll have had an early start to the day and will be ready for a nice long lunch break.

Seeing as how you will be there at a non-holiday time on a Wed-Fri, I don't think you'll need early entry. Just get there a little before opening and you should be fine.

After a full day at Disneyland, can you get yourselves out of bed at 6AM to be at the park at 7? This has been an ongoing problem with my family and EE.

We have that problem too. But the days the poster will be there, the park opens at 10, so EE at 9 isnt so bad.

LOL, yeah that is what we were thinking too. We like to sleep in a little! And being there for 3 days makes me think that we will be fine and not need the EE really!
My parents are going up with us on Wed. so that is why we are eating at BB. We have Princess resi for Friday. Thursday is really going to be just a hangout kinda day.
You said that the tickets have to be less than the annual. So if I buy the 3 day hoppers for $119 then I can't upgrade to the SoCa since it is the same price? So maybeI should buy the tickets through the site on mousesaver for $114 so I will be good. I don't know if the military includes the EE. I will look into that.

I'm no expert, but I think you can still convert it to an AP even if the parkhopper cost is the same or more. You just won't get a refund for the difference. At least they did for me about 5 years ago. That may have been an anomoly or the policy may have changed since then.

Do you have AAA or a Disney visa?
Sometimes those also offer discounts at the BB.
