I think this question came up once before but I don't believe I ever saw an answer posted for it - does Disney own or control the businesses located just beyond the Timon parking lot which occupy the Northwest corner of Katella and Harbor?

If they did, then it would seem that they still had a reasonable amount of space to expand DCA should they desire to do so .....

If not, then it would seem they would have to pay out some cash to get that land if they desired it ..........

Anybody out there know?

Coronamouseman, I actually asked that same question about a month ago, and never got a straight answer. If anyone knows, please tell us?!

No, they don't.

The largest chunk of that area is taken up by the Candy Cane Inn, which I believe is still a family business.

There's also a convenience store, maybe a couple other things.

Anyway, Disney doesn't own that land, at least AFAIK.

Disney owns everything from Habor north of the Katella to the 5 and everything on the north side of Katellla between harbor and west street aka disneyway.
Disney will own the 7/11 and ABC market in Sept 2002 those two have a twenty year lease for the 1982 olmpics

uhhhhh, there wasn't a 1982 Olympics. There was an Olympics in 1984 in Los Angeles.

If Disney owns the land the 7/11 is built on and leased it to Southland Corp to build the 7/11, then they wouldn't own a 7/11 per se when the lease was up (unless it were in the original lease agreement). They would just have a right to re-lease the land to Southland or toss out 7/11 and lease the land to someone else. Or toss out 7/11 and use the land themselves. But it wouldn't be a 7/11 and technically, if it was only a land lease Southland Corp could knock the building down if they wanted, if Disney didn't re-lease to them.

Of course most of this is predicated on what was in the original lease agreement. And if Disney has a land lease or built the building and has a lease on the building. Or if any of what gautry says is accurate, which I generally have doubts about.

Squinky - Dont complain - If it is the Marriot that is near the Hilton - You will have a very nice hotel. I stayed their a few times and it was a great deal and a very nice room. MUCH better than those hotels across the street from Disney!:D

actually, we already stayed there... I acn't remember if it was the Hilton or the Marriot... but it was a nice hotel. Probably better than the "Discount Inn" or whatever, but it's hard to walk that far after 12 hours at Disneyland!

They both , the Hilton and the Marriott, have shuttles you can take.

Here is another overhead photo from mapquest. You can use the navigation buttons to move around. (South for DCA, West for DLH, etc...)

To view your map, cut and paste this link into your browser's location bar.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?mapdata=jZ2g%2b%2fXW8V9KGlz1T7Cid8%2fMoCSK 9IDp24aZPpnQJS16QA6CsrQ5XWKuGNnJdQlO5qdC6PM08Cp5MV k5CV%2b5ouE6lYx6IjGP4aDxWo96z50JIesYDtnjxE4qLytES2 o4kYukJOBo8hfvQElC0TmgvlcFlrznQ%2b6F9e4N8GoNZv%2bP gf77CbQxfZwNJw0eRtpfN5h9fVpkCT1aJU6xKrzghj6ExAUwDW IyUHmdU0gquGFbnQdyDJBVrcIiC%2fACOf6L6a1yHvcWAJIZDV X1vJcNFcyHiZ%2f%2fzlSmmnUIfGw9zHvNXcGNUWs9Og5UuDOp qfGOL7LEeKPEyxO%2fLbw6WxUsh%2fH5NeTeHw7RMgmlOBkljA 9AsCLaMzMhAw%3d%3d

And, if there's a space between map.adp? and mapdata, you need to delete it, otherwise you just get a map of the US. It will also show up in your location bar as %20. If the link won't work, just do an address search for 1313 Harbor Blvd, in Anaheim. Then click on Aerial Photo.

Curious though, when I try to paste the URL from the MapQuest site into a MousePad hyperlink, the link doesn't work. <scratches head>

Exactly. It kept adding the space, which makes the link not work.

This one will work though:

That page will automatically refresh to the photo.

Wonderful Opus!

Could you add just a bit further North (to capture toontown) as well?

I was thinking of doing just such a thing with some software designed to match up such images ... but that software is on the computer that I gave away ... :(

Looking at the aerial photo of DLR, I never realized how many trees there are @ DL. I think DCA could benefit from more greenery. DCA needs shade.

cemeinke- ariel photo... I get it!:D
