This past week I spent a wonderful week in the Palm Springs Area(Mainly Rancho Mirage), and it got me to thinking about how wonderful an area devoted to the California Desert would be(Mainly the Palm Springs area). I thought that this would be a great addition if Disney sticks with the California Adventure park in the future.

What do you all think about this?

Now that i think about it, maybe it wouldn't be such a great idea, all i can think of is a indian-type village.

Maybe i should have put some thought into it before i said anything :D

Maybe some of you other padders have ideas

Indian Casino!

Woot woot!

Or we could devise a clever plan to wipe out the hotels in the area and add a world class golf course!

Here is my idea for a new direction for DCA.

After going to the successful Mickey's Trick or Treat event. I started thinking that they could really do a lot with Holiday themes at DCA.
In the early fall a complete redo/theme to a Halloween land similar to what Paris and Tokyo do complete with a special parade and other events.

Next a Christmas Fantasy with the special Very Merry Christmas Nights, a special parade, and a Christmas light show on the lagoon.

New Years - Valentines Day - Easter - St. Patrick's Day - Summer Solstice - 4th of July - etc... Create special costumes for our favorite characters to wear to help represent each holiday and have them be present in the park for those days. - Special nights/events that are themed to the holidays - special parades for the holidays....
It would not be easy or cheap to set up initially - but it would give DCA a unique purpose and a special place for Disney Fans to go on each Holiday....
Just my two cents

It's already been done, in Santa Claus, Indiana...holidayworld.com. They started off with Christmas, then 4th of July, Halloween and opening up a Thanksgiving section next year.

well didnt disneyland used to have a holiday themed land, that was there all year round??? what happened to that anyway? was it cleared away to make more space or was it simply unsucsessful?? i think that would be a great idea tho, aside from the fact that some of it has already been done..

here are my thoughts...

[2 cents!] Have a villian themed land. Complete with a villian type mountain or something that is a center piece, have the villian characters roaming the area, make a neat original ride maybe like an indiana jones style involving some major show effects, something new!! who knows, i think there would be a lot you could do with that, a villian character dining, some really cool stuff could be a done with a villian theme and infact, i think that there would be enough to potential almost to make a small park...but it would make a great land if you ask me, but would that be better for DCA or disneyland? problem is neither of them really have the space for such a land do they?? perhaps it would be a good thing to put in the strawberry fields that disney purchased??? [/2 cents!]
