TODAY is the 30th anniversary of Disneyland's beloved Country Bear Playhouse attraction...well it would have been if it hadn't been closed down last September.

Us Country Bear fans on the net are having a small celebration online. Right now, Ursus of Grizzly Hall has set up a small page with two videos containing clips from the bears' final performance (Highlighting the audience's applause and reactions throughout the show), a timeline, wallpaper, and will upload magazine articles from 1972 regarding the opening of the attraction. You can view this over at http://welcome.to/grizzlyhall

Also, Paul Barrie of the Country Bear Playhouse site also plans to upload a really great video of the last show himself, but it's on hold for now due to a recent hard drive crash, and will be available in the future. To make up for this, he has uploaded video of the Tokyo Disneyland verison of the Country Bear Vacation Jambore. For more details on the status of the video head over to

The Playhouse may be gone, but it's legacy lives on...

Boy, am I behind the times! I love the Country Bear Jamboree. I always see that, I have enjoyed it since I was a kid. I was looking forward to taking my son, I am so very dissapointed. What is there in its place?:(

Nothing's there yet. They're planning to put in a Winnie The Pooh ride there though.
