It's now $45.00 to get into the parks. Does anyone else feel this is way too expensive to get in?

Well, that does it, I'm getting an AP. :)

Disney should cut back on buying companies like Fox Family and making Disney Home Stores and leave the park ticket price as is. I'm wondering where they get off doing this after making many major DL rides defunct (Subs, Bears, Rods, Skyway...). If there was a major E ticket ride built and then they raised ticket prices, I wouldn't complain. However, they haven't done anything to justify the price increase.

Nonetheless, I vow never to pay $45.00 to get into DCA.

go with the AP GC! For anyone planning more than one or two days at the park it is the better value!

It's $2 than it was before! No big deal. But, if you multiply it by the approx. $50,000 people that go to DL everyday, it's a huge profit for Disney. $100,000 more each day! $700,000 more each week! $255,500,000 more each year! (sorry for the outburst)

That's assuming everyone going into the Parks is buying a regular priced 1-day ticket. Not that many Guests do that, usually it's just the non-SoCal visitors coming for only 1 day, and thise people are getting farther and fewer in between.

Most guests now-a-days are coming in on a discounted-type ticket such as the SoCal 1-Day Resident promo, a regular prices multi-day ticket, a discounted multi-day ticket (from a travel package or etc.), an Annual Pass, or even special events like the Cheerleaders and Band groups.

For a family of 4, $2 a head is quite a big deal. $8. That's the price of a meal inside. May not seem like much to you, but people come with strict budgets and that kind of overhead hurts. Forget about when they drag Grandma and Grandpa along, or if they have 3 or 4 kids. Suddenly, it's an extra $12, $14, $16 bucks. Ouch.

Your calculations were a bit off. $255 million would assume there were 365 weeks in a year. More like $36.5 million if 50K people paid full price every day of the year.
