Recently on a trip to Disneyland my inlaws met Oscar who had been with Disneyland since 1956. I was wondering if anybody knew who had actually been at Disneyland the longest? Thanks.

I would say Mickey Mouse... about 78 years...

As far as I know it's currently Rod Miller. If not, he's in the top three.

I think Rod Miller

A good friend of mine has been there 35 years and another friend of mine that works at ST has been there 37. They have not been there the longest but a darn long time!!!!

Does Oscar work on the Alice in Wonderland ride? I think I saw him on our last trip, and he had a HUGE Disney ring (think Superbowl ring size) and his name tag said Class of 1956.

Actually, Oscar is a chef at a restaurant on Main Street. He was profiled and interviewed on the KOCE program "Real Orange" back on May 5th. He knew Walt personally and would cook meals for him on occasion.

Who knows, maybe now Oscar works on attractions as well.

Oscar is still a chef on Main Street and is indeed the CM currently working who has been with Disneyland the longest. As such he got to unveil the CM door during the dedication ceremony.

In attractions, I believe it's Mickey (not the Mouse) and Rich.

Anyone have a pic of Oscar, or know which resturant he works in?

I'm going to go with Oscar, but sadly, the last time we spoke he said he would probably be retiring this coming year :(.

I hate to see him go, we always take the time to see him and visit a bit every year.

Yeah, he told me the same. He is the sweetest man. I will be sad when he leaves.

It seems that for this 50th celebration, the Guide Maps have been displaying the Cast Member(s) who have been here the longest. Inside it has a name tag with the Cast Member name and their class. I think it started with the July 17th map.

Each time they have changed the cover of the map, they have been changing the Cast Member name on the name tag.

Walt class of 1955 was on the July 17 guide map (disneyland) and Roy class of 1955 (California Adventure). The Space Mountain cover had Oscar class of 1956. And for the Christmas one, I believe it's showing Rich class of 1960.

Ya! I saw Oscar at Alice in Wonderland a few weeks ago wearing that ring!

We meet Oscar at the Carnation Cafe last week. If you have a chance, say hello. Truly a nice fellow. And a living link to Walt and the park circa 1956.

Caroline at Club 33 since 1966, Tom at Tower of Terror since 1970, Rod Miller since 1970. But Oscar the chef outranks them all.

We met Oscar last Saturday while having lunch at the Carnation Cafe and it was a real treat. We talked for quite some time and he has been a CM since Dec. 29th 1956. He will be celebrating his 50th anniversary at the end of this year and will probably retire a few months later. Here's a picture of him with my DD Angela & DW Tamara (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a137/SimiRich/DL/1a51397b.jpg)

What a genuine & neat person. Thanks Oscar for making our day!

I actually worked in the kitchen with him once last summer....okay well I was washing dishes while he talked to some of the fellow cast members in the Kitchen. He's a really neat and intersting guy....like the previous posts said if you see him say hi!
