We have always gone to the park in October but are planning to try December next year. How is December weather? I have seen mention that the temperature is generally nice during the day but drops off at night. By how much? Also, I heard someone in line talking about the rainy season coming up. We have always enjoyed the rainy days in October, but in December does it make rainy days cold and miserable? Please someone tell me it isn't so!!! I am looking forward to seeing Disneyland snow but don't really want to catch a cold to enjoy it! Would love to hear everyone else's experience under such conditions.

December nights can really get cold! I've never been so cold as when I've been at Disneyland (well, except for Texas -- that was super cold!) But anyway, yeah, the temps really drop after the sun goes down, but I don't remember there being much wind or rain in the half-a-dozen times I've been there at that time of year. Just bring some scarves and hats and mittens if you so desire, along with a good heavy jacket, and you'll be fine. Plus, holding some hot chocolate or cider and seeing the "snow" in the Magic Kingdom decked out in its holiday best makes it all worth it. Have a wonderful time!

I agree with Werner!! The nights and sometimes even the days can get really cold! We always bring extra blankets for the kids in their strollers, and hats, gloves, scarves, and jackets to keep warm.
As long as you are prepared, you should be fine. It's when you aren't prepared that you get cold, and end up spending more money that you wanted, cause you have to go buy something.
Have fun!

Yeah, it's freaking cold in Seattle right now. But compared to Seattle, even a cold December day in Anaheim is better. I've also experienced quite rainy December days at Disneyland too. I was on the Peoplemover once and we got stuck over the sub lagoon. They shut the ride down because it was too wet and windy, apparantly (maybe the tires/brakes get too slick?). CMs had to escort us along the emergency walkway along the track and back into one of the buildings to an emergency stairway. I was a teenager at the time and thoguht it was pretty cool.

If it starts to rain, go IMMEDIATELY to the nearest gift shop and buy an umbrella or poncho. It's miserable if you're soaked and your hotel is far away. And definitely bring a warm jacket and put it in a locker if you don't want to go back to your hotel at dusk.

I hear it actually snowed in Disneyland on Dec 15, 1966. Of course that's the day Walt died, so maybe it's an urban legend. Not impossible, though. The Bay Area, and even So Cal, occasionally get a few flakes that melt on impact.

33 days and counting!

Does anyone have an idea of temperatures in December? Being from Utah, I have a pretty high tolerance for cold. Does anyone know, or should I just be happy that it will be warmer than it is here?

I can tell you what the temps have been when we have visited in Dec, if that helps. Usually it is mid to high 60's during the day and 50's at night. Of course, if it rains, it's a wee bit cooler. We normally begin the day wearing jeans, sweatshirts and jackets, and as it warms up during the day, we take off layers till we are down to jeans and a t-shirt.

HTH!

I guess "cold" is a relative term depending on what part of the country you're from. Here in Alaska, 50's and 60's sounds pretty warm for winter months. That actually sounds like an average summer day for me.

Incidently, we've just gotten our first snowfall of the year this past week. Can't wait for the "snowfall" at Disneyland!

Considering I know how cold it will be here then, high 60's sounds fantastic. Thanks!

Jooky...Probably see you there! My wife and are will be there Dec 14-16. And we are also from the Seattle area! I do find it funny that ones from Cali say it gets cold when it gets way down to the 60s. Thats like shorts weather. And 40's isnt that bad either. Try haveing it be 40 and adding big fat rain to the mix! Now THATS seattle livin!

EchoThree76: I know exactly what you're saying with Seattle's weather. Southeast Alaska typically gets the same temperature range, maybe slightly cooler, and it's right in the middle of a rain forest, so we get our fair share of liquid sunshine.
