Also, here is some new park info from the last week....

Of course, DOSH signed off on California Screamin', and released its report. The MP News section has two good articles, the revised Orange County Register article has a good graphic of the brake values that were found to be the main problem. The ride has reopened, though it has shut down a couple of times this weekend for short periods of time to address some normal glitches. The did a good job of redoing the brakes at the end of the ride, as the stop is a lot smoother than in the past. Also, the music is still not working on all trains.

The Monorail is supposed to go down from October 24th for about 10 days due to the work going on in the Hollywood Backlot area of DCA, including working on the Monsters, Inc. facade. (Consruction workers and the live electrical rail don't go together).

Selected Coca-Cola Products in the Southern California area (mainly 12 packs and 2 liter bottles) have a set of Disneyland Coupons.

$10 off a 2 Day ParkHopper (Adult price with coupon $96)

$10 off a SoCal Select AP (Price with coupon, $109)

$20 off a SoCal AP (Price with coupon, $129)

Note, the coupons are designed for SoCal residents, I don't have a coupon with me, but should get one later today and provide more details.

Yes, there is one for almost every seat, attached to the seat back in front of you (about knee level). The front row has to share one pouch, due to space issues. I would say it holds about a medium sized purse, about 12 inches in height and width and 6 inches deep (an educated guess on the size).

OOOHHH I need a 2 liter bottle of Coke!!! My sis is the only one without an AP and she needs a two day hopper!!! My zipcode fits, however, I will have to go store searching to find a marked bottle since we live at the top end of "Southern California" (it's really considered the "central coast" and on a map it looks WAY more northern than southern...)
Does anyone know if they are everywhere yet, or should I wait a week to go from store to store?

I like that better than the impassible wall that was there before.

I wonder if it should be opaque, though...

Wow. Excellent!

Also, the music is still not working on all trains.
Now, if only I could GET one of those trains without the music. That volume is way too loud.

A little over an hour north, near Pismo Beach. I love SB though... go shopping and eating there every month or so.

OK, where exactly IS the picnic area anyway? When I was on the tram from the parking garage, they say something like, "if you'll be eating food in the park, please enjoy our picnic area to the left of blah, blah, blah".. I never did figure out what they were talking about. My husband says it's OUTSIDE of the park, before you even go into Disneyland??

At one time, it was easy to access the Picnic area, as a path went from the left of the Disneyland Guest Services area (also has lockers and bathrooms) straight into the picnic area. That path has been blocked by the securty gate (used to have two wooden fences with some shrubs and other stuff as a gap, to require someone to spend time in the "neutral" zone, and give security a heads up). Prior to moving the security checks to the central Main Entry plaza area (instead of checking right in front of each turnstyle), it was a free and open path.

Ever since they remodled the area when adding DCA, there was two entrances (partly for Fire Marshall issues), the second entry is the one everyone uses now. It is located near the tram loading area, but the lesser used north side. Basically, if you look at the security checkpoint on the west side, look to your left, past the small Guest Relations booth, you will see a set of shrubs/trees, head that way and find the "hole" in the shrubs.....

Alas, to use the bathroom now, you have to go thru security....

Ah HA! now that explains where the guy with buckets and bags of Kentucky Fried Chicken was going then. He went through security, and towards the info booth thingy.

So what's IN the picnic area? I see the coke machines, which is way cool. I am glad they don't have those machines all over the park, at Knott's that's one thing that turned me off about it? Not sure why I prefer the vendor carts over a machine, but it just looks better??

Thanks again Darkbeer, You're a wealth of information!

Anybody know where to find these coupons in Orange County? I have not located them on any products yet.

I found mine at Albertsons but have also seen them at WalMart and Vons. The Coke bottle they came off of was not completely decked out in a DL ad, just the top of the label has a blue stripe with the advertisment for the discount.
