Well, here is the first part of Gabrielas and Georgios (Camthalio) trip report. My English is not that good and so I hope you all can understand everything and it is not to boring for you. A second part will follow soon.

Saturday (09/10/05)
We arrived after a long flight (12 hours) in Los Angeles (LAX) at 2.30 p.m. and checked in at the Paradise Pier Hotel about one hour later. The cast members there were really nice and gave us all the vouchers and stuff we needed. They had also prepared a pin, a signed picture from Mickey and Minnie and Balloons for my girlfriend , because of her birthday during our stay. Our room was great. We had a wonderful view over to Disneyīs California Adventure. A few minutes later a cast member brought a gift basket with Mickey Ears, a Autograph Book, a Mickey Head Pen, some snacks and a Mickey plush, for my girlfriend that I ordered in advance. After that we left the Hotel to explore Downtown Disney and the other Hotels. We have been several times in Disneyland Resort Paris before at so we were busy comparing the Downtown to Paris Disney Village. Downtown Disney is much better, because there are a lot of different shops and restaurants. After dinner we went at 9.00 p.m. to sleep. We were really tired because of our exhausting journey.

Sunday (09/11/05)
After we had some doughnuts and coffee for breakfast we went to Disneyland. A nice cast member welcomed us and explained everything we need to know. We walked down Main Street and were a little bit disappointed about the small castle when we saw it from afar. The one in Paris is much bigger and impressing, but after a closer look we found out that this castle is also beautiful. Than we went to Toontown and spend some time there. We even met Mickey in his cute house. Next we decided to take a ride at the Haunted Mansion, because this was the last day it was open before closing for the holiday decoration. The ride is totally different to the one in Paris. There are some things we like on the Anaheim ride more. The floating Madame Leota with the instruments is great and the graveyard scene is also much better. We spend all the day at Disneyland. We visited Tom Sawyers Island and Ariel in her shell, we watched the parade twice and we drove a car at Autopia.

Monday (09/12/05)
That morning we had a reservation at the Plaza Inn for breakfast. The food was great and we met a lot of Characters. We love meeting Characters and in California they are really nice and they make funny kissing sounds. After that we watched the Disneyland Band playing at Main Street. We also watched the Dapper Dans. They are great and so funny. We went to different rides that were really amazing. I donīt like roller coasters and thrill rides and that is a big problem in Disneyland Paris, because there are not very much slow rides I can go on. In Anaheim there are much more rides for me. For example The Jungle Cruise. I love that one. I didnīt understand all the jokes the cast members made, but the ride is great! We met a lot of characters in the park and made a lot of pictures. We also went to Small World and I have to say that the one in Paris is much better. There are much more puppets singing and there are much more props and sets. In Anaheim you can see the walls and the roof and the is not enchanting.

Tuesday (09/13/05)
This day we went on a bus tour to Los Angeles. We saw a lot of different places. We went to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and even to the sea. Because we didnīt had a lot of time a the stops we had to hurry around and this was really exhausting, but at least we saw some of the important landmarks.

Wednesday (09/14/05)
We went to the Jazz Kitchen for breakfast and had the French Toast Dippers. They were delicious but much to much. We couldnīt eat them all. That problem we had all trough our journey. Food was so much so that we split one meal and this was enough for the two of us. In Europe meals are not that huge. This day we went for the first time to the California Adventure, the park we saw all the time from our hotel room. We went to different rides and met characters. We liked the park very much. I read here that a lot of locals donīt like the park, but we did very much! We went to Ariels Grotto for lunch and met all the princesses. We had a wonderful time there. We were sitting by the water, enjoyed the view and had great food! After we bought some Name Tags and golden Mickey Ears with our names on we watched Muppets 3D and walked around the park. After closing we went over to Disneyland.

Vielen Dank, Camthalio! I look forward to more pictures and am enjoying your European perspective on DLR. I agree with you about the size of portions in the USA versus in Europe; everything is much larger, and I often end up splitting a meal!
