Note, this service is replacing the "Airport Bus", which was also run by Coach USA/GrayLine. You can find more info at their website http://www.airportbus.com/

QuikQuote: Coach USA/Gray Line of Anaheim launched The Disneyland Resort Express, a bus service that provides transportation between Los Angeles International Airport or John Wayne Airport and the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
The company purchased 12 vehicles that will be dedicated to providing frequent, on-time service, said Bryan O’Connell, Coach USA’s general manager. The buses replace a previous service. The new vehicles are easily identifiable, with Disney logos and images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Sounds like phase 1 of Disney's Magical Express, California style.

Sounds like phase 1 of Disney's Magical Express, California style. Except this one seems to be going to non-Disney resorts, as well, if I read the link correctly. (And the price)

Well, it's still phase 1. ;)

Unlike WDW, where there are 20-plus resorts, which are enough to support several bus routes, there are only 3 resorts at DLR. There's also another bus line that shuttles people to the resorts in CA, as opposed to FL where Mears effectively had a monopoly on buses.

Phase 1: Create the demand. Link the company to the resort, steer people to the bus line by slipping a discount coupon into each reservation package mailing, build the brand.

Phase 2: As demand warrants, start running dedicated buses just for DLR hotels.

Phase 3: Make it free and obliterate the competition.

Phase 4: Start charging again. (Look for this phase to be implemented at WDW around the start of 2007.)
