Just a few tidbits about some of the things I saw in the last few days...

First, they moved the ATM at the Bank of Main Street. It used to be inside the bank on the right side. It is now located on the outside of the building, in the walkway to the restrooms and a CM entrance. This allowed Disney to open up additional windows inside to handle more guests per hour in regards to AP processing.

They removed a planter from the walkway in front of the Plaza Pavillion, and next to the Wait board, to help with crowd control issues after the Fireworks and Fantasmic!

They also removed the Lemonade ODV cart that was located at the Plaza Pavillion.

They have removed the FASTPASS machines from the area next to the Haunted Mansion Holiday (Was used for Splash Mountain when Pooh offered FP's), and they also removed them at DCA from Muppet*Vision 3D and It's Tough to be a Bug. This leaves just Star Tours with a set of machines that is turned off 7 days a week.

Due to the changeover to Haunted Mansion Holiday, they have changed the VMK tour, and instead of the Haunted Mansion, you now get the Pirates of the Caribbean as an attraction, and the special quest for the tour is PotC. There are 6 new prizes that you can get that are PotC themed. The quest states it will be offered from last Monday thru March 5th. This should match up with PotC going down for its major refurb. Also in the fine print is the new rule of only being able to collect quest prizes every 90 days (instead of the old 30 day rule).

The Hub is still the best place to watch the Fireworks.

The castle is having pavement work on both side paths (under the arches), plus some pavement work at Snow White's Grotto.

The Photo Supply Store on Main Street is closed for refurb thru September 29th, and they have set up a temporary location next to the Guest Services booth in the Main Entry Plaza to sell the photos taken by the CM's in the park.

The Orange Cone advertising Block Party Bash has been removed from the Tram Loading area at the parking structure.

Not sure when it was moved. But I have used that ATM machine several times, starting on my April 26-30th, 2005 trip. So, it has been on the side in the walkway since at least the end of April.

Yeah, I think the ATM was moved as part of the buildings reburbishment when they put in 50th Magical Years and generally prettified the building.

That was fast work on the HM fast pass machines as they were in there a week ago.

I saw the pictures of the bad paving in front of Plaza Pavilion last night but for the life me couldn't visualize what had been removed so I didn't run the picture (less than authoritative to say "here is a picture, something is different but I can't put my finger on it").

And I think I'm enamored with watching the fireworks from small world. I don't feel like I'm missing a whole lot (the Pirates battle is the only thing I really feel bad about) and the convenience of walking up at 9:25 and sitting without a crowding and the projections on the facade all make for a very pleasant evening (and you aren't immediately stuck in traffic afterwards, either.

Did they let you sit right in front of Small World, where the topiaries are? That's where we normally like to sit, but a couple of weeks ago, we went there, and they had closed off that entire section. They had a rope up about where the popcorn/churro (I forget what they actually sell) cart is, and they weren't letting people go anywhere past that. They actually closed down Small World, the Small World store and Fantasy Faire before the fireworks started. When we'd asked them why (as they were kicking us out of our normal spot), they said something about the wind, but I recall having sitting there when the wind was much stronger.

I do like most of the projections on Small World, though I find some to be too redundant. And I like being able to sit there for a while waiting for the crowds to thin out, something we couldn't do that night, so we got stuck in all the foot traffic before finally waiting it out at Village Haus.

When I sat there on the 9th I didn't notice any blocked off area though I may not have been paying attention. We sat in the same place (a bit off to the right) as on July 17th when we saw you there.

Yep, that's our normal spot, where they wouldn't let anyone sit. This time, it was roped off so that we were actually behind the light tower where the projections come from.

For a while there were two ATMs, one inside the building, one outside. Now it looks like there's just one. Is there anyplace in the resort where there are two? Or just one that is in an out-of-the-way corner?

I know there are two together between the lockers and Guest Services to the left of Disneyland's main gate. I think that is the only set of two, everywhere else it is just one machine at the location.

Well, on the 9th anyway it wasn't blocked off. Sat in the middle of the walkway like normal. I hope they don't start regularly blocking it off. Especially since they now encourage people to go back to small world.

Do you mean in Disneyland, or in the resort proper? There are two together right inside the entrance to DCA. There are also a few at various locations in DTD.

I am truely impressed that a person could have so much knowledge of someplace......I'm in awe.......

Not only that, for frequent visitors (like myself), I have favorite ATM locations (Frontierland entrance, left-side blockhouse) and favorite bathrooms (Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, ground-level).

At least, I THINK they are my favorites. -- They are the locations I use the MOST. -- Why else would I find myself there so often?

Hey, I visit the First Aid station off Main Street so often I am thinking of dialing (714) LIE-DOWN to reserve myself a couple of asprins and my favorite cot!

I just noticed a plaque of some sort (didn't stop to read it) in the middle of the entrance to Frontierland - between pin cart and Pioneer Merchantile. That is new, isn't it??

No, though there used to be a flagpole behind it.
