Two adults, 3 and 4 year old. Quick vote: Paradise Pier or Grand Cal? Cal is $80 more per night. 3 nights.

Depends on your likes and needs. The GC will probably get the most votes because of its location. Its nice to be close, especially at night when the little ones have tired legs.

But, the $80 a day would go along way toward food or souveniers every day- and is still a very nice property.

It depends on your budget.

I would pay 80 bucks more in a heartbeat. The Grand Californian is a destination in itself, plus it is so very, very close, which is so very, very nice when your feet are so very, very sore!

I would vote Garnd Californian in a heartbeat. We have an almost 4 y/o, and the proximity is a lifesaver! It's worth the extra $ if you can swing it!

Thanks for the input. I opted for the GC.

I know eitehr way would be OK, but I figure per day: $20 cuz its closer; $20 cuz the pools are bigger; $20 cuz the GC room has a DTD view versus city view at PP; and $20 general ambiance. The real clincher is that my 3 year-old insists on walking and that extra bit back and forth each day --at her pace-- adds up. Thanks all.

We have stayed at both, and we have had small children at both too. I would have to agree with others and say, if you can afford it, stay at the GCH. It is that much more convient. However, I would have to say that our room at the paradise pier was bigger than the two rooms we stayed in at the GCH.

If your budget allows you to stay at the GC go for it. PPH is a nice hotel with large rooms as minniemom has said but, with the little ones it is a bit of a walk at the end of a long day.

I forgot to add that you can request a room with a queen and bunk beds - if you are comfortable with your 4 yr old on the top - they are not full size bunks - they have a weight limit of around 60 - 70 lbs (I think).

We had this same choice. I had a reservation at PP an switched when a room can open. well worth it.

Agreeing We've stayed at all three hotels and would opt for the GCH every time if our budget permitted.

I'd rather stay at Motel 6 than Paradise Pier. Put me down for GCH.
