On Halloween night, most of the stores participate in handing out candy to the kids. Not all, but most. Other than that, I can't think of anything that was "special" going on. The kids have had a blast trick or treating at the stores.

We were in Disneyland last year for Halloween. Not much happening. Actually, the parks and downtown disney were pretty empty on Halloween night. But if you're there late enough, you might be able to look through the gates and watch them put up the giant christmas tree. Last year we were on the Halloween tour that night and after it ended, and we were leaving, saw the tree and reporters and filming of the tree going up. It's pretty cool, because that thing is huge.

Based on the conversation that kids but not adults can dress up in the park, does that apply to Downtown Disney as well? I'm talking a simple costume, not covering the face or fake weapons. My DH is looking forward to doing a father-son matching costume and I hate to tell him he can't dress up at all. TIA.

Adults are not allowed to dress up on Disney property. And that includes Downtown Disney. Security was escorting people off property during the StarWars midnight showings earlier this year.

THis is weird. At Disneyland Paris resort you are actively encouraged o dress up for Halloween - they even sell make up and costumes in the park stores. So why this bizarre policy at Anaheim?

Best places to go are rich neighborhoods they hand out the best candies and have the best displays. I remember as a child going to those neighborhoods and having the best time. Going to DTD sounds pretty boring.

I live in what you could consider a "rich" neighborhood and I disagree in the case of where I live. No one really decorates for Halloween (uptight meanies :~D ) and most don't even pass out candies. I really hope that this is only the case where I live. I would actually like to go to DTD on Halloween but I already have other plans :D

Go to the wrestling at The Pond like I am. There should be enough freaks and geeks there to satisfy ya ;)

Halloween means absolutely nothing to me, but it will be interesting to see how it's done the "traditional" way.

Thank you! I will let my DH know.
