Can anyone confirm or deny the rumor that "Remain seated please...permanecer sentados por favor." on the Matterhorn has been changed?

Thanks!

Please...someone...say it isn't so.

That's become almost a U.S. cultural lexicon! And Jack Wagner immortalized!

It now says...

"Please remain seated and keep your seat belts fastened. Permanecer sentados, por favor."

It isn't still Jack Wagner, is it?

I'm not that good at recognizing voices, but it sounds like the same voice.

Interesting. From this we can infer that English speakers are not so bright and now need to be reminded to keep their seat belts fastened. In contrast, Spanish speakers just need to be reminded to remain seated and they know that includes leaving their seat belts fastened.

Hmmm. Or maybe they have an evil plot to do Spanish speakers in by not reminding them to keep their seat belts fastened. Hmmm.

I wonder if it is his son. I know that both Jack and his son have done voice work at the Orlando airport.

There are several versions of the famous Jack Wagner "Matterhorn Spiel" and its quite possible they just used a segment of one of these alternate spiels to include the seatbelt statement. You may recognize this spiel as the one that plays just before you begin your ascent up the lift hill.

I listened to the new speil several times. It very much sounds like they cut-and-pasted words from several Jack Wagner recordings (though probably not The Famous Jack Wagner .wav  ) to make the new track. I'm almost certain it is still him.

Is nothing sacred? :(

Hmmmm....LOL!

And by the way, how could one possibly stand up WITHOUT unfastening the seat belt? I think the purpose of the new spiel is simply to drum the message into the skulls of the dense.

^yes, since a lot of people don't know what "please stand behind behind the yellow safety line," is and why they have those special yellow lines.

Disney must have found this spiel to be sacred, since it is in Remember! How can they do this? It is NOT meant to be changed!

I sent in a complaint email to them about this. I would suggest each and every one of you should do the same here: https://secure.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/help/contactUs?name=ContactUsPage

While I do think complaining to Disneyland is a good thing, I doubt they'd change something so small as the warning spiel.

That's lame. At least we have it on the CD set and in the fireworks music.
