Can anyone tell me the best spot from which to watch the fireworks? I was told that after Fantasmic they try and get you to stay there and watch. But I was also told you can't see everything from there. I want the very best place as we have never seen the fireworks at Dinseyland. Thanks!

In my opinion, right in front of the castle. Although if you watch Fantasmic, I'm not sure you'll be able to get a seat there. I watched the fireworks from the Fantasmic area too and while thry are still good, you do miss a lot.

MousePlanet's viewing guide gives you a good idea of where best to view the fireworks and what you'll see where. It's located at this link (http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm050511as.htm).
They are now projecting images on "it's a small world" and Tom Sawyer Island so you don't miss as much there as you used to, but if it's your first time it's best to position yourself somewhere that you can see the castle and the Matterhorn.

The central hub is the optimum place to watch all of the effects of the fireworks show. People begin saving themselves viewing spots on the upper half between the front of the castle and the front of the Walt Disney statue as early as 6pm. Some benches favoring the Tomorrowland side are much sought after as well. And you might find a place with a clear view of the peak of the Matterhorn.
The fireworks show starts at 9:25, or within five minutes of the end of the 9pm show of "Fantasmic!" Winds may delay the start; announcements will be made is that happens.
If you watch the 9pm show of "Fantasmic!" you will not have any chance to move to the hub. You'll see the fireworks, hear the soundtrack, but you will miss the projections onto the castle and elsewhere. If you must see "Fantasmic!" you're better off catching the 10:30 pm show of "Fantasmic!," after the fireworks show, if there is one the night you go.
There's also a viewing guide on this site someplace, with helpful charts. I'm sure someone will post it here soon.

all 3 times I ahve been in basically the same spot. Twice we camped out for about an hour on the curb right near adventureland. the curb is great because it adds height....the second time we just stumbled into it. We weren't planning on watchign them, btu we couldn't egt out of the area easiely either. So, we ended up right in fron t of the aformentioned curb in the street. We could see allt he fireworks, the castle and the matterhorn as well ad the projections..:)..also the second time we only waited about 15 min.

The best spot is alongside the parade route in the hub facing towards the matterhorn. This is a prime spot for the parade and the fireworks with an unobstructed view of the castle and the matterhorn. But as someone previously stated, you have to camp out early for it and its better to watch this THEN the 2nd Fantasmic. And as I'm sure someone else might say it, but another good spot is by Small World. You do miss a lot of the action that takes place in the center of the park, along with Tinkerbell who flies behind you, but they cast awesome images on Small World and you're closer to most of the fireworks. I haven't seen them from over here myself, but I always see someone raving about them on here. If you are there for more than one night, I recommend trying both locations, as well as catching the first Fantasmic on a seperate night if you are unable to catch the 10:30 showing.

Right in front of the castle. Front and center.

I saw a video of this on another site. It did look pretty cool. I will watch the fireworks from IASW if I see them again. Once was awesome, twice was enough, I did enjoy them the third time, but i could do without now...LOL

So far, I've seen it from the Hub in front of the castle four times (Awesome!), after "Fantasmic!" three times (not so Awesome), and from the steps of Main Street Station once this past weekend (not great but not entirely bad). But with all the good "press" IASW's getting on these boards, that's definately my next spot to check out. I've also read that behind the castle in Fantasyland is possible and unique as well.
But momoftink, if you haven't seen it yet, you must try to see from no other place but the Hub. And you may not need to wait too early to save a spot if you happen to be going on a weeknight or a Sunday. However, be prepared after the show for some patience. Depending on where in the Hub you stand, it takes a while for the densely packed folks to clear out. From my place in front of the castle, I usually hold my ground for five or ten minutes before strolling on my way as the crowds have thinnedby then.

Have there been any cancellations lately due to winds???
After the test balloon, when do they make the call to cancel. Thanks
