I don't know if Space Mountain has been having difficulties in the past few weeks since it opened again or not?

My first day at Disneyland today (for this trip) - but Space Mountain was closed. Later in the afternoon it suddenly opened - we joined the line - an instant 90 minute wait - we stood in line maybe half an hour and they then said it had gone down again and we were all sent away.

Has this been happening regularly? Any word on if it will be opening again tomorrow or in the coming days?

I rode it a couple of times last week with no problems. Maybe they're being extra cautious after the California Screamin' incident.

I was there on Sunday, and it was broken down for a good portion of the day, right in the middle of the afternoon. I'm beginning to suspect it's a fairly common occurrance.

we can't always expect rides to be open, they break down most of the times. :) regarding safety, better to be safe than sorry. Right?

SM didn't break down when I was there [July23rd]. However, Indiana Jones was down for a little bit (and it was earlier in the day!) and Buzz Lightyear ride broke down in the beginning of the day (around 9:00 AM) and around 10 PM (closed for the rest of the night).

So yeah, as TowerofTerror puts it, it happens to all major rides.

We were there from the 18th to the 24th and SM was down a couple of times during the afternoons, but I figured it was just going through a "check" to make sure everything was still functioning ok.

The one ride we did get frustrated with was Splash. It seemed to be down a lot that week (could it have been due to the heat??) Twice, we watched them escort people off whose log was at the top, ready to go over the drop. I'm sure they were very safe, but it was a bit funny to watch - I know I wouldn't have wanted to be one of them! (120 minute wait time at that point!)

I'm hoping it will reopen again in the next few days - I am soooo excited to ride it. :D
