View Full Version : CNN.com makes quite a "goofy" mistake regarding E-tickets...

...the writer must not have had an infancy, or they outsourced the story to India.

Ticket prices also have changed. An entry ticket into the theme park on its opening day was $1, but people had to purchase individual tickets to go on rides. By 1959, Disney introduced the "E" ticket, which allowed multiple rides. It was 85 cents. Today, an all-inclusive entry ticket for ages 10 and up is $56.

Yeah. That's a Oops.

But I suppose it could have been technically correct if one had used their E Ticket to ride the Disneyland Railroad multiple times on the one ticket. ;)

Even more embarrassing than the mistake, was the coverage of the 50th Anniversary. I watched CNN yesterday in hopes of catching some footage of the festivities, but instead got endless coverage of all the sorrow and death in our world. Finally, Disneyland does gets recongnized...in a 15 second blurb. Walt Disney was the embodiment of the American dream and one would think that his dream would be given a little more credit!!!

It can be said, that here at MousePlanet, Walt's dream does not go unnoticed. :)

How about this graphic (http://www.latimes.com/media/thumbnails/graphic/2005-07/18499670.gif) in the LA Times which says "1979: Walt Disney World opens in Orlando, Fla."

Um, 1971 maybe?
