QuikQuote: Disneyland Park uses gunpowderless, compressed-air technology to launch most of its aerial fireworks. The new method, initiated last summer, enables Disney to create patterns that are more intricate and greatly reduces the amount of smoke produced by the display. To see how the process works, go to www.ocregister.com/multimedia/disneyfireworks/ (http://www.ocregister.com/multimedia/disneyfireworks/)
The park's nightly 50th Anniversary fireworks display will be followed by a special seven-minute patriotic finale on Monday, in honor of Independence Day. The 17-minute anniversary firework show features imagery from the park's most popular classic rides, a flying Tinker Bell and several Disney characters. The July 4 finale adds fireworks such as gold waterfalls, silver bees, silver and gold palm shells, and red, white and blue chrysanthemums. Disney's fireworks display begins at 9:25 p.m. nightly.
