You are in for a treat, Nancy. I don't want to stir everyone up, but.....I've got four rolls of film, from Christmas 2004 that I'm going to post later this month, as part of my Christmas in July party.

And I've got some rare ones, that I've not seen anywhere else......A real, live, Grand Californian KING room. All I've seen on the net has been queen rooms. The King rooms are a bit different, with bigger light fixtures, a couch and a bigger, deeper soaking tub.

I took very detailed pictures of the Park Christmas Tree, and tried to get a single shot of each ornament. (Which, I really wish they sold in one of their stores)

I get really detailed. Single shots of Minnie's sequined red shoes etc.

So, I hope people don't get mad with the lack of wide angle shots. Life is in the details, and that's what strikes me.

Just pray that the four rolls come out (They've been sitting for seven months, but I think it should be ok).

And, any advice anyone wants to give on where I should sign up (I've never uploaded pictures before)... flickr, or webshots...... I'd certainly appreciate it.

I'm excited, though.

I am thinking we will be getting many photo updates this weekend and also the weekend of July 17th. So many people will be going to the parks with their cameras.

pisces--How do you stand waiting this long before getting your pictures developed??? I always looked forward to developing them upon returning home and reliving the vacation again. Now with the 1 hr developing so popular, I sometimes have them done right away--the advantage being that if one didn't come out good I could try to redo it while still there. Right now I have film still in the camera with pictures from graduation 3 weeks ago and it is killing me to see them. much more patience I guess.

Yes, thanks for pictures, since some of us may never get there again at all, and enjoy living vicariously through others trip reports and photos.

That's a good question. For one thing, I was fresh out of money. I went hog wild on the trip and had absolutely nothing left for getting the pics developed, and transferred to disk, and put online.

I never thought of the consequences of leaving film undeveloped for that length of time, though.......and am really praying the film'll be ok.

Also, I felt I needed a kind of a separation from the whole thing---since I wouldn't be going back for a year. I needed to separate and leave myself something to look forward to midyear. If I'd have trotted out and ooohed and awed over my pictures instantly.........then it'd really be all over, and I'd have absolutely nothing left.

At least this way, I have something to savor. Something special.....that I still can look forward to, from the trip. I'll never have another trip like that. 7-days in a GC theme park view, at the best time of the year, after a 25 year absence. I'll never have that kind of experience again, nor the $$$$.

So, I think it's worth trying to stretch that out, leave myself something, yet, to look forward to, and give myself a kind of a mid-year boost......during the dog days of summer, right when I need it most.

Make sense? Now if only those pictures come out properly, my special trip ----which I feel like I've extended 7 months---- will be complete.

Whew, I'm so glad someone "gets" it. Because it's all I can do to keep from devouring my pictures.

Funny, I was going to develop them, to keep the film from sitting, and then just keep the developed pictures in the sealed envelope, without looking.

I don't trust myself to not look at pictures once they are developed. I don't think I have the willpower to keep from ripping that envelope open.

So, this is the only way...to savor something from the trip.....not use it up just yet.

Oh, I'm so glad. I was worried: I know the kind of photographer I am. I took pictures of various light fixtures in the GC. I took pictures of the changes in the cobblestone brick flooring. Comparing and contrasting textiles, fabrics of the costumes etc. Individual ornaments. etc.-------some people don't like that and wonder why I'd photograph such trivial stuff.

But, this is the stuff I remember most: flooring, ceilings, the fabric of the Character's clothes etc...

That's what I tried to do: take pictures of offbeat things that you can't find anywhere else.

Most of all, I've given myself something to look forward to!

But, don't anyone else do that!!! I mean it. I'm just strange. I want everyone else to post their pictures instantly ;) .

Your film should be fine! Last month I got picrures developed from a roll of "mystery film" - turns out they were concert pics from 2002! Your pics from 7 months ago should be ok. :D
