I don't know...first we were thinking around 4. Then I read a few more threads and now we're gonna be there about 6 or 7.

We'll be outside the gate at open. Not going to line up hours beforehand, because even on July 17th it'll take several hours for the park to reach capacity.

I'll be in Utah. There is very little that could convince me to go to DL on July 17th.

My brother and I will be there early, not sure how early, but we enjoy meeting others, so if you see me, say hello!

I am so excited for this trip!

Does anyone know what number capacity is?

It changes based on rides closed, areas under construction or blocked off for special events like press functions, etc...

The number for July 17th should be somewhere between 75,000 and 80,000......

We might bring the motorhome, so 12am might be a good time for us to get in the Mickey/Friends parking lot.

If they do the same as on 05-05-05, the parking lot opened 1 hour earlier than normal. So since July 17th is a Sunday, they should open that parking at 6am, I hope.

Early. I'm sure all my hotel room-mates will be annoyed with my puppy dog enthusiasm to get in line at 7 a.m. or earlier. :D

Yeah, all I have to say is that if I'm there, the only way I'm going to be anywhere but in my HoJo bed at 6:00 is if I'm still up from the night before.

You can just leave room service outside my door and I'll meet you a couple of hours later.

Thinking I'm going to be standing in the freakin' DL line at 6:00 <sigh>

We're staying at one of the nearby motels the night before, but just between us -- if the park is so crowded that they aren't letting people in, I don't want to go. I have been going to Disneyland all my life, and all its life, too. My wife and I and our kids all grew up there. If it isn't fun, why bother?

I also spent the 25-hour party in 1980 with a friend, planning to go on all the rides until we just got too tired after 19 hours and figured the hell with it.

With the cutbacks in food (TLMt got one of Those Calls last week) and potential overcrowding, if it becomes an ordeal we will just leave.

i feel the same. I haven't been going all of DL lifes, but all of my life and when it's to crowded and hot it turns into an exercise in torture for me. I doubt I will be going for those reasons. I was never much for bragging rights anyway...LOL..when we do go during the summer we go at opening, leave around noon, return at night. I just can't handle the heat and the crowds. 9ok I can handle heat. I live in a desert, but the humidity kills me...:))

we may still go though...I'm debating. Hotels are not an issue I ahve family who live 15 min away, but I prefer a hotel...ok...now I'm just babbeling...LOL

The plans so far include arriving to the park between 4am and 5am. As the actual date gets closer, I plan on calling Guest Services to see what time the parking structure and esplanade will be opening on the day.

Right now, they are saying the parking structure will open at 7am. Pumba lot may open at 6am. They are SAYING the esplanade will open at 7, however, I believe on the 5th it opened at 6am.
