ANAHEIM -- It happens every afternoon at Disneyland, around 2 or 3 o'clock. Look around:

A great number of the youngest visitors are dead asleep, zonked out in strollers, on a parent's shoulder or on a bench. Many, many others are in full wail, tears streaming, their little bodies nearly convulsive with the perceived injustice of the moment.

And the majority of adults, whether toting kids or not, have the look of someone who's just stumbled across the finish line of a triathlon.

Good article with a great plug for Mouse Planet in the last paragraph!

I had to laugh when I read that. We took our son when he was 3. By midday he was zonked out relaxed in his stroller. We very much enjoyed a coffee and some quiet time in shady areas while he recharged. After a good lunch he was ready to go again followed by dinner, a good swim and out like a light for the night...ready to go again the next morning. Had he have been a child that melts down or screams we probably would have had to do the mid day break at the hotel. The last thing I would want would be to ruin the vacation by overstimulating my child.
