In case anyone is interested, I've posted a page of information about
upcoming releases in the Olszewski Disneyland miniature collection as well
as pictures of the Main Street set up and the Jungle Cruise piece to be
released in September.

Here's the link (http://www.colddeadfish.net/dlr/olszewski061805.html).

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this.

I haven't even bought one yet because I have no where to display them. Maybe I should get rid of my fish tank!

The times i tried to purchase some pieces they were out of stock and got fustrated but now i regret not doing it from the beginning. I was told though that the new piece being sold that were actually released first now have a wiring device so that they could al be plugged in with the road set that will also be sold.
I am planning on just purchasing all the ones that have come out already at one time and then continue as they come out. Do you happen to know how many pieces are out already and the total price for them?

In case anyone is interested, I've updated the page with revised release dates, more pieces to come, and pictures of the next four releases as well as a mockup of the Pirates piece to be released in July. Link is the same as above. Thanks.

(Yes, I'm reviving this old topic, but I didn't think three months was long enough to start a new thread.)

I think these are great because of the amazing detail! We bought the Castle and it even has a Hidden Mickey on it lol, anyone else have any of these?

Sorry to resurrect an older thread, but it seemed to make more sense to add to this one rather than to start a new one.

For anyone who's interested, I've updated the Olszewski page with pictures of the Haunted Mansion piece and others, as well as information about and many changes in the upcoming release schedule.

Here's the link to the information from yesterday's release: http://www.colddeadfish.net/dlr/olszewski061805.html#february18.

And here's a link to the updated release schedule: http://www.colddeadfish.net/dlr/olszewski061805.html#schedule.

Thanks a lot for the Olszewski-updates.

I really have to win the lottery, since I would really like to have my own miniature-Disneyland at home! (My parents will kill me if I ask if I can display it in the living room, but that is just a practical problem)
Another practical problem I experience, is how to get everything at home! The pieces are rather big, and I can imagine they come in HUGE boxes. Can someone help me regarding the boxes? How much bigger than the piece itself are they?? Are there pieces that CANNOT be shipped? I heard the castle is way too fragile to ship...
I don't think I will ever be able to bring the Main Street platform home... I think American Airlines will declare me completely insane if I ever arrive with that at the gate :D

I've heard of a few cases where various pieces have arrived broken, but I don't recall that necessarily happening with just the castle. Some of the pieces are available through disneyshopping.com, so I would imagine they get shipped out all the time. A good friend was generous enough to buy us the WDW castle, which was shipped to him and which he then shipped to us, and with all the spires and details on that castle as well, it arrived to us in perfect condition.

I don't think I will ever be able to bring the Main Street platform home

Here's the good/bad news - there are discussions to have the platform sold directly by the Olszewski studio rather than through Disney because of the size and bulk of the platform. Disney may not be able to and may not want to handle the inventory because of the size and how much room they would take and how awkward they would be to manage. If the Olszewski studio itself sells it, I don't know if they'd be available by mail order or how that would be done.

I think whether the Main Street platform will be sold by Disney or Olszewki, the shipping won't be possible, since it's too large. At Disneyshopping.com, many times, with larger items, they always say it's not available to ship international.

I think my only option to get it is, is inquire first how large the thing is when it's packaged, then inquire with American Airlines if there are any options to take it with me on the plane, and how much that "joke" will cost me.

Oh well, I have many pieces to buy before I can even consider buying the platform!

I ordered the castle from delivEars - it took three weeks to arrive in the U.K. and it was perfectly packaged and no damage whatsoever. Only problem is we have to pay VAT (sales tax) and Import duty on it which add some £50 to the final cost!:)

I am always "lucky" when I order expensive items from the US! For some reason, not every package gets "taxed" and everytime I had something really expensive, it got through the system!

Now, imagine this: HUGE box, with on the customs-sticker "commercial goods" + the real value ($500+) => no VAT to pay
Small box, on the duties-sticker marked as "gift" + value ($30) => I have to pay VAT!!!!

I will NEVER understand Belgian Import duties, but as long as I don't have to pay them on the expensive stuff, I don't complain!

I would love to have something like that, but no place to put it. AND I think my DH would have me committed, my obsession would be over the edge at that point, in his mind.

In case anyone wants to start or add to their collection (except for the castle and train station), there's a 25% discount being offered in April (http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/disneygallery/event_disneyland4799.html) on select pieces and accessories at the resort.

Thanks so much for that info Cindy. I'm 3 pieces behind and have been putting them off. This will definitely help, especially after the income tax refund posts, lol!

They have not yet been commissioned to do that one, but they have said that Fantasyland is on the wish list if Disney approves it. With the teacups already out, Alice would make sense.

I just returned from DL a couple of weeks ago and picked up the Astro Orbiter and the Tea Cups. Real nice pieces. I have 6 other pieces from the set including Cinderella's Castle from WDW which is the most impressive. I've enjoyed your website on these products since I got into these sculptures...thanks for keeping us up to date.

I'm in love with these pieces! If I can only have one, I'd choose HM. I'd put it out mid September for Halloween and put snow under it for Christmas. :geek:
