I currently have a Southern California (regular, not select) pass. I got it early/mid December. (Early enough to enjoy a few trips in Dec. before my blackout dates hit.)

I have some family coming to see me next week and we will be going to the park Tues. and Wed. - Wed. starts my blackout dates. I could just buy a 1-day blackout ticket. BUT, I think I will want to go in July a time or 2 as well. (I have MORE company coming in early July, before the "big day" and will likely want to go then.) IF I upgrade, I'd only upgrade to the Deluxe, not the Premium...I don't need to go 365 days a year...I avoid the park on big holiday weekends, Christmas, etc. anyway.

BUT, if it's just a couple of days that I want to go...I might be better off just buying the single day upgrade blackout ticket here or there. Would it be a waste to upgrade my pass this late - since it's only good through Dec., anyway?

Help! What would you do!

The block out ticket thingy costs how much? isnt it like $30? (I dont know since I have a PAP....but I think thats what I've heard)
So if you are looking at buying 2 or 3 of those at the least...I would just upgrade if I were you.

Yes I need to verify but I think it's $30 as well.

If you go 3 times at $30, that's $90, how much would an upgrade be??

An upgrade to a Deluxe is $60 (the difference between $149 and $209), so that is two days worth of Blockout passes....

Well, I think that settles it! If I just go on 2 blackout days, it's worth it.

Now, do I have to do this in person, at the AP center, or what?

You have a couple fo choices...

You can buy a Blockout pass, then upgrade the same day at the Bank on Main Street (You are given full credit for the $30).

Or you can go to Guest Relations (just to the left of the Disneyland Main Entrance) and upgrade there, they will use your photo on file, but they can print you a new AP on the spot.
