I think it is great that the Smithsonian is displaying the Dumbo and Teacup. They are now American icons. It is a great honor. I am sure that the way Michael Eisner thinks, he knows that it is free advertizing for Disney. I am sure that he enjoyed all the attention. Also, I am sure that he really does not want to leave Disney. The said part is he probably does not know why he is going.

I question just how far he is going. The last thing he said was really ominous.

>>"Yes, it's a bit nostalgic," he said after the ceremony, but pledged he wouldn't disappear entirely from the Magic Kingdom. "I still have a great interest in the company. Therefore I'm not actually leaving in my heart." As for such ceremonial events, "I'll probably be at them forever," he said.<<

He still owns a big chunk of Disney stock, and he has the means to buy more. He also still holds considerable influence over the Directors on the Board, and I would not be surprised if he counsels Robert Iger regularly in the future.
