We've been back for a little bit over an hour now. I'm still sore from so much walking, waiting in line, crowding, pushing, shoving, etc., but I'm on a very big high from our experience this past weekend.

As expected, the crowds were big, but we didn't have any problem really. I had foot surgery some time ago, and my doctor requested that I wear an ugly boot while at the park. Consequently, DL issued a Special Assistance Pass to me, which I was told here on this board previously that it wouldn't happen. They did make an exception, which ended up being a Godsend on this trip. The bad part was that my brother-in-law, also on this trip with us, suffered an accident 12 years ago, breaking both ankles, amidst other problems, and even with a doctor's note, they STILL wouldn't issue him a pass this weekend. I thought it was completely unfair, and his condition warranted it.

Some of the highlights that stood out for me....clearly, the pinnacle of the trip for me was our visit to Club 33. It was a very surreal experience, and it was wonderful. The food, service, personnel....all of it was top-notch. The only mild disappointment was that they did not have much of their merchandise available for sale, and the management told us that it was stuck on a ship approaching Long Beach, or docked there, one of the two. We still purchased a couple of coffee mugs, pens, pins, and my wife bought a jacket.

Another unexpected part of our trip was Splash Mountain. Just before making the ascent up the long climb to the top for our "fall and picture," the attraction shut down. All of the lights came on, the sound and music stopped, and a cast member seemed to come out of nowhere to escort us out of the attraction. What was interesting to me was that we were able to go "backstage" and see things that normally no one would see. They would not allow us to take any pictures back there either. It was awesome, and I suppose I won't see the likes of it again.

Each ride was great as usual. This was our first time with "Hollywood Tower of Terror" and needless to say, I have a new "one of my favorites" ride.

I would also recommend the "50 Years of Magic" movie and exhibit on Main Street. Steve Martin did an excellent job in hosting it.

Another high for me was the fireworks spectacular at the end of each night. We finally settled down and watched the entire show last night, and I was left feeling that it was the perfect end to our stay there.

One of the things that I'm sad to report however, was that the food in the Blue Bayou was mediocre at best. We were all disappointed in it. And in the past, I've so looked forward to eating there. It made me feel that I want to check out other eating venues at the resort. The Napa Rose for one.

My sister dlandnut's 50th birthday bash was a big celebration for us, and what better way to spend it than to be there as a family at the "Happiest Place on Earth."

Splash must have been really neat "behind the scenes". Nice reading your report.
