Since there are DCA and DL top 5 lists, might as well add this to the mix...

(in no particular order)
1. Circlevision - American Journeys / ATB
2. Captain EO
3. Peoplemover
4. Country Bears
5. Swiss Family Treehouse

I don't think I can put these in order...

People Mover
Inner Space (I BARELY remember it, but I loved watching people
"get shrunk")
Tomorrow Land Rockets (as they were, above the PM platform)
Country Bears
The Parking Lot (well, more spefically, the awning leading from the parking lot to the gate, with Mickey's head on it)

Topping my list (duh) is:

1) Adventure thru Inner Space

2) Peoplemover

3) Mine Train thru Nature's Wonderland

4) Golden Horseshoe Revue

5) It's a tie between The Skyway and Rocket Jets

The loss of the following favorites has severely altered my experience of Disneyland for the worse:

1) Adventure thru Inner Space
2) Captain Hook Pirate Ship and Skull Rock
3) Swiss Family Treehouse
4) Submarine Voyage
5) Skyway
6) Golden Horseshoe Revue
7) Rocket Jets (up high)
8) Tahitian Terrace

Sad to say, buy our trip when I was 4, I bearly remeber anything, these rides do stick out in my mind though:

5) Skyway

3) Country Bears
2) COP
1) People Mover (Mom said I refused to get off!)

1. CircleVision (particularly Wonders of China)
2. Peoplemover
3. Skyway
4. Original Golden Horseshoe Revue
5. The One-of-a-Kind shop (I never actually bought anything, but some of the antiques were fascinating).

Technically, CoP is not in Yesterland; it's in WDW-MK, where I understand it's just had some mechanical work done, and where they only run it for special occasions.

Incidentally, I think Innoventions has actually improved a bit. I finally had a chance this past weekend to look at some of the new stuff, and actually go into one of the "presentation" rooms of the Pioneer Virtual Resort. Some of the software demos (like the Monsters, Inc. game) could benefit from little signs indicating how they're supposed to work, instead of leaving you trying to guess. I think it could also benefit from a non-sponsored exhibit area modeled after the Exploratorium, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, and Seattle's Pacific Science Center.

Wow! Just as I thought, most of the attractions people miss most are from tomorrowland. Let your hearts not be troubled -- Disney has replaced them with their finest creations yet!

Let us examine a few of those classic rides vs. their replacements:

Classic - Replacement
1. Peoplemover - nothing
2. Submarine Voyage - nothing
3. Skyway - nothing
4. Mission to Mars - Restaurant
5. Rocket Jets - Some "Thingy"
6. Circlevision - nothing

Actually, the Rocket Jets were simply moved and re-themed.

As to the rest, perhaps somebody realized that nothing could adequately replace the Peoplemover, CircleVision, the Submarine, and the Skyway, and so they replaced them with precisely that.

Sort of reminds me of something avant garde composer John Cage is said to have said about his famous (or infamous) totally silent composition 4'33" (which personally I regard as the piece that shows off a Hammond at its best). Cage is believed to have said:
"I have nothing to say, and I'm saying it."

I disagree. The Rocket Jets were not "simply" moved and rethemed. Atop the platform, it was one of my favorite rides in the park, especially at night. From the fun of taking the gantry lift to the top, to the spectacular view of the park it afforded, it was one of the most magical attractions there. Now, at ground level, it is nothing but a glorified Dumbo (geez, this is the third time I've posted about this). Now it is just a line like any other, nothing special. And, more importantly, the "view" is of nothing more than a bunch of trees and part (not even all) of the oh so spectacular new Tomorrow Land.

No, the Rocket Jets were not moved. What they were is gone, replaced by a pale imitation.

I wonder if that "thingy" that rests atop the old peoplemover platform uses the old rocketjets motor? It would make sense, since all it does is rotate.
