View Full Version : Fireworks: What's that tune?

As a Disney Music afficianodo, I'm kicking myself here. But there's a tune in "Remember" that I just don't know.

It's right after the Pirates sequence, before the Big Thunder/Davy Crockett part. It's sort of a soaring orchestral piece.

I'm confused because the "wishes" refrain kicks in briefly, but the music doesn't match the rest of that melody. The train whistle blows, and it sounds vaguely western (at least "cinematic" western), which would tie it into Frontierland. So, I'm confused.

Anyone know where the piece is from? Is it an older Frontierland theme that was before my time? Maybe something to do with the Mark Twain? Help!

Have you read this (http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm050511as.htm)?

I'm thinking the answer is in there.

Yeah, I saw that, but I'm pretty sure there's more to it. I've got the soundtrack, and there's a BRIEF return to the Wishes theme, but then it goes into lush orchestral thing, that is not the wishes theme at all. This is BEFORE the Big Thunder Spiel. Something about the music strikes me as very Riverboaty. Like its the long lost Mark Twain theme or something.

Or, maybe I'm just crazy.

Sorry I can't be of more help, SweenyTodd.

This is the place to ask, 'though. Bet someone knows!

Awesome! That was just the answer I was looking for!!! I'm glad its for the Rivers of America, and not a reprise of Wishes. Not that I have a problem with Wishes, it's just more poingant to keep it as a park reference in the middle of things.

By the way, has anyone notice that the "attractions" portion of the Fireworks seems to (more or less) follow the Disneyland train around the park? Yeah, Haunted Mansion and Pirates are reversed, but other than that, it pretty much moves around the park clockwise starting at the entrance. So cool.

"Wishes" I was told is from the Orlando fireworks show.. but the DL show isn't the same as Orlando.. its just that "Wishes" part. As for the rest... its bits and pieces from most of the rides that we have loved over the years.
