Hi All,
I barely remember "Flight to the Moon", but much of my memory was jogged when I heard the spiel on the 6-disc Musical History of Disneyland... what I cannot remember is... what is the UFO that sets off all the alarms halfway thru the ride? Then Tom Morrow gives a little chuckle and says "that's not an unidentified object..."

Anyone remember?

Thanks,
Jon

A seagull.
The way he chuckled, I imagined it was Mickey flying the airplane he made in "Plane Crazy"!! :fez:

Thanks,
Jon

btw, they reused that footage in the queue area for Mission: Space at Epcot. A nice little tribute. :)

It's actually a goonie bird.

Agreed, Disnerd. It's that bird that comes in for a landing but tumbles head over heels every time.

Sorry. I'm no ornithologist. ;)

Albatross!

Yes, it's an albatross. Watch the Rescuers, and you'll see Orville the albatross make the same "landing" as in Mission to Mars. Disney actually based the animation off of that footage.
