I notice last weekend when we went to DL that there are new CM name badges.
Reading .. Disneyland Class of______ with the year that the CM got there job. So my wife and I started playing this game to see what was the earliest year we could find. I won ,I found a porter with the year of 1979. 26 years at the Happiest Place on Earth. I was wondering what is the earliest year anyone has seen ????? Could there be possibly someone walking around with the Class of 1955 ???? hmmmmmm

A CM I used to work with would probably have Class of 1977 on her nametag. I was discussing the nametags with my boyfriend and he mentioned that she hired in one year before he was born.

I like the idea of the badges. It's something to talk about with the CMs. In fact I was talking to one of the hostesses from Blue Bayou (who's really cute :~D ) about the badge because I had asked her how long she's been working at the park. It was dark and I couldn't read the badge, okay. :p

Anyway, the Class Of idea is cool I think.

Especially when you make the "homecoming" connection... ;)Homecoming Connection? As in a class reunion, right? Now I can't get the Rainbow Connection song out of my head.

This reminds me of Cruises (and Casino's) where their name tag often has their hometown on it. That might also be a fun addition. :)

According to the latest issue of "The E Ticket" magazine, Bob Penfield, who retired in 1997, was the last remaining opening day employee. There is an extensive interview with him in the magazine.

Yep, you are correct but he's at Blue Ribbon Bakery now. There was a nice ceremony for him in the early morning hours on May 4th where he was given a gold chefs hat.

Yeah oscar is the earliest remaining cast member. Other than him there are lots of cms who have years in the 70s.
