This may be public knowledge, however, until Mother's day, I had no idea you could do this. We had forgotten on previous days at DL to make our mom's day reservation at Blue Bayou. Of course, on that day, it was packed full all day and no way to get a table. I mentioned to the gal that I wanted to have a Monte Cristo and she said, "We can make it for you, to go." I was thrilled! Of course, I would have rather been sitting in Blue Bayou, by the water, listening to the people going by on the boats to Pirates, however, I was craving that Monte Cristo big time, and it was our last day at DL!!! You should have seen the faces of the people walking up to get their bread bowls, as I sat outside the NBC shop, eating my delicious mother's day Monte Cristo, while hubby got a bread bowl! Yummy! Just thought I'd tell you that you can get it to go, because it's such a popular item...or at least that is what the gal told me! :) :)

If you want to see exactly how far "to go" a Monte Cristo has been taken, read this adventure (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/alt.disney.disneyland/browse_frm/thread/d36bb26a8f495695/4c164935ab4496fb?tvc=1&q=monte+cristo+chicago+verbal+group:alt.disney.dis neyland#4c164935ab4496fb) from 1999.

Oh my gosh, Andrew! That is an awesome story!!!! I'm thinking MouseShoppe needs to provide this service, I'd pay $50 for a Monte Cristo on a day like today! Ha! Thanks for the link, that was a great read.

If you do get it to go, don't forget to have them pack the jelly :)

I KNOW! I was shocked they'd do it, but, it was Mom's day and the gal at the counter said that they do make them to go because they are so popular. The jelly was there and the pasta salad too. Oh man, I'd kill for one right now! ha!

I had recommend the Blackeneded Chicken Salad to my mom on our last DL trip a week ago and she enjoyed it immensley! But we ate our lunch at the restaurant.

A little tip for everyone who may be diet conscious I recommend this: At the end of our meal at BB the waiter asked if we were interested in some desert. I had ordered the Roasted Pork Loin and absolutely loved the cinnamon apples. I asked if it was possible to order the apples as a side dish so I could have that for dessert. Not only was he able to bring out a side dish of the cinnamon apples, but he had the cook warm them up as well! Mmm, mmmm, mmmm. Delicious stuff!!!

Maybe not too diet conscience, but cinnamon apples with a small scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream, yummmmm. Kind of like apple-pie ala mode, but without the crust!

I did this back in December. I was craving one so bad but didn't want to take up a table at the Blue Bayou for just me. They made me one to go and it was awesome!!! Yum!!! Now I'm hungry!
