When on vacation, I *must* have a buffet breakfast at least once, but I'm having difficulty in choosing a restaurant at DLR. One of the character breakfasts would be nice (although interaction isn't of primary importance, since I won't be with children), but I'm interested in a restaurant where priority seating arrangements aren't really necessary--if one exists, that is; I don't want to over-schedule myself.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My vote would be for Storyteller's Cafe.

I agree, did Storytellers for the first time last Sat. very good, Plaza Inn would be a close second and is in DL park :)

Yep, if it's the food you're after, definitely Storyteller's Cafe. The food is excellent, character interaction isn't too intense.

Storyteller's has the best food quality for a breakfast buffet at DLR.

This is interesting.. We like Storyteller's, but we did not do the breakfast buffet. Last year we went to Goofy's Kitchen which we enjoyed very much - both food wise and character wise.
Can someone sum up the differences between these two buffets? I was planning on getting advanced reservations for Goofy's Kitchen, would you recommend reservations for Storyteller's too if we wanted to eat there on a different day?

On our last trip in December, we went to both Storytellers and Goofy's with our 3 children.
Goofy's has much better character interaction, and we love the breakfast enchiladas, prime rib roast, and omelette bar. The kids always have a blast and we enjoy the food.....we've gone to Goofy's at least once on every trip to DLR since 2000.
BUT Storyteller's has much better quality food.....and desserts (OMG, they're SO good!). It's really a fantastic buffet and if there's a difference in price, I don't think it's that much. It's also more low key and just all around nicer and cozier than Goofy's.
We did make reservations for Goofy's, but both times we went to Storyteller's (once for dinner and once for breakfast) we did not have reservations, and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table both times. A wait we didn't mind, because we loooove to hang out at GCH! :D
There have been many occasions when we've had breakfast reservations at Goofy's AND had to wait 45+ minutes, though, so it's pretty much a crapshoot.

I'll add to the Storyteller chorus. The other nice thing about Storyteller is that they offer both a buffet and an a la carte menu, so if you have people in the same group who don't all want a buffet, it works out really well.
As for a buffet where priority seating isn't necessary, I don't think you're going to find that. As long as you don't mind waiting, but sometimes, it can be very busy.
Storytellers is great. We also love Goofy's Kitchen. We just tried Lilo and Stich and we all loved that. You can also order off the menu at Lilo and Stitch if you don't want the buffet. We did not enjoy the Princess Buffet.
The food wasn't that good compared to the other 3 choices.
