When everyone first saw the concept art a lot of people didn't like the look of the castle. But now that we have seen the real thing how do you like it? I personally really like it because I thought the concept art was a little over the top but now it seems to all look very nice.

Agreed...if I remember the concept art correctly, the crowns just seemed much bigger and dominating. The final look is more "complimentary" than overpowering in my opinion.

I LOVE IT...and can't wait to see it in person!!! Now it looks like a castle...wish it could look like that always....I looked at my pictures from our trips from 2004 and prior and the castle looks so faded and unkept.

There are some very interesting stories about how some folks managed to get the crowns and the overall castle "enhancement" toned-down a few notches without a few of the big shots knowning about it.

But I'm not at liberty to share those stories. Just glad it didn't end up like that original artist concept. ;)

I think that the crowns look really nice, and compliment the castle. They make the castle look elegant. On closer up pictures, did I see snakes on some of the crowns? Do they represent something?

Thanks. I thought they might have been princess crowns. It all looks much better than the concept art. The concept art looked like a Jester's castle!

Does someone have a link to the concept art picture?

I went for a couple of hours today, mainly to see the castle and new 50th movie. The castle looks great in person...much nicer than the original concept art. The crowns are a nice touch and aren't overbearing/overdone at all IMO.

Too much flare. Wait, let me count.... 1, 2, 3.... 13, 14, 15. Yep there are fifteen pieces of flare. Just meets the mimimum of self expression. I might need some more flare. ;)

The crowns weren't up on the castle when we were there yesterday for the Sneak Peek, so I didn't see them in person, I've only seen the photo linked to here.

Maybe it looks better in person, but the expression "guilding the lily" springs to mind for me. I'm not sure it needed much more embellishment, but maybe once I see it in person, I may change my mind.
