I'm in West Los Angeles, and it's raining hard. It doesn't look to be clearing up any time soon. Usually whatever the weather in L.A......heads inland to Anaheim within an hour.

What time do the fireworks start?

Maybe they'll do the rainy-day cavalcade thing with the bus?

You'd think if the fireworks are so high-tech, they'd withstand the rain.

Oh well. I'd love it. Rain wouldn't slow me down in the least!

Sorry to hear that, ( wish we had some here) They can not do fire works in the rain, we had to cancel here a few times over the years and have it the next night or 2.

Still raining hard, here.

And I mean the real deal, not that wimpy sprinkling-rain.....the splattery pounding kind.

But, again, this is West L.A. maybe it will bypass Anaheim. Usually that's not the case, though.

I've lived in Southern California my whole life, and I've never seen it rain this hard in May...that I recall.

Then again, this has been an unusual year altogether---in terms of rain.

I'm in Ventura right now and a lot of what you're getting now...we got about 2-3 hours ago. About an hour and a half ago the rain stopped and we got some breaks in the clouds with sunshine poking through. So perhaps you might be in for a break in the rain for a little bit, at least.

Lot's of sun and blue sky right now here in Ventura. Don't know how long it will last though. Looks like some pretty dark clouds way in the distance up north.

I've got my fingers crossed for those at Disneyland that the rain won't be an issue, that the fireworks are a *go* for tonight. The local news has been saying that this storm may finally break that record that they've been talking about breaking for months now for the most rainfall.

There's nothing like being in a tent and hearing pouring down rain at 3:47 am . All I can say is I'm really glad I had a really thick water proof matress pad under my sleeping bag last night!!

I hope the fireworks don't get rained out in DL tonight when it's such a special celebration day!!

Sun's gone already behind dark clouds here. I guess today is "Anything Can Happen Day" when it comes to the weather!

Here is a radar loop from the National Weather Service. Look for "Anaheim" on the map.

NWS Composite Short Range (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p37cr/si.ksox.shtml)

Wind is reported 10 gusting to 21 at 7:40, Whittier Hills.

Surface Observations - Click on indicator (http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesonet/surfaceobs.php?wfo=sgx&htmlmap=sgx&sort=name#table)

Here is the Anaheim area page...

Anaheim Area Weather (http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/total_forecast/index.php?wfo=sgx&zone=caz042&fire=caz242&county=cac059)

Here is the Satellite Page... Look toward the middle area for 2km Infrared or Water Vapor Western US. Looks like anther cel is forming west of Catalina that could swirl into Anaheim area.

Satellite Page (http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/index.php?wfo=sgx)

If you like to have radar loops updating for hours in the background, with full zoom and pan, warning areas, hail / cloud top reports (and who doesnt!!!!!)... here is a decent piece of software I'd recommend...
Gibson Ridge Level 2 (http://www.gibsonridgesoftware.com/grw88level2/)
or better still...
Gibson Ridge Level 3... (http://www.grlevelx.com/grlevel3/)

Looks like the wave of rain has passed to the east. Should be no precip for awhile.

Wind is the issue.
Wind is reported 10 gusting to 21 at 7:40, Whittier Hills.
Just to the east, Wind 12 Gusting 19.

I dont know what the ceiling is. Smoke should generally blow E-NE.

I'd just gotten out of the Tiki Room when it started pouring cats and dogs, so I ran for the shelter of the Frontierland shops. Then most of the cloud cover vanished. It was pretty cool.

Just got home, Fireworks went off with only 1 hitch <One of the spinners on the castle didnt fire> It isnt as much the rain thats the issue when they dont have the show, Its the wind... Changing fallout directions in a major issue when so many buildings, and even residential areas are around.
