They're replanting the parterre in front of the Main Street Train Station. I was saying to The Lovely Mrs. tod and The Little tods that if they could replant it for the Bicentennial, they could sure-as-hell replant it for their own 50th anniversary.

The Plaza Gardens has been de-topped, there's just a framework up there now.

The 50th anniversary merchandise has actually filtered itself into Disneyland proper.

The gold ear hats have gone up to $11.50 for grown-ups and $10.50 for infants. The CM told me that the prices went up when they became popular.

According to the same cast member, kids want black ears, not gold ones.

The all-leather jacket is a business-major designed POS with a generic Mickey/Castle logo on the back (with "Est. 1955" added) and a re-made black and gold "Tencennial" logo with Avant-Garde Gothic type -- and Avant-Garde was released in 1968. They also made up logo a for the 20th anniversary, even though there was no 20th anniversary celebration, they were starting up "America On Parade" for the Bicentennial. The big celebration was for the 25th in 1980, and then every five years after that when the park came under new management.

Like I said, all business majors, no feeling of Disneyland history.

The baseball jacket is really cool, though, and I want one.

That's about it.

How long does this usually taken them to do? And how far along are they? The concept art looks very cool for this.

It was shown at the cast blast presentation. Because I can't put a copy of the concept art online, I have recreated (very poorly) what the concept art looked like.

It has mickey stanging in front of a 50th logo inside a giant mickey head. There was a ton of detail in it.

They also ran at about 8:00 the Block Party Bash over at DCA. It looked kinda neat, but at the same time, didn't seem to have a lot of excitement with it. They played a lot of party music- like celebration, jump etc. We were standing at the entrance gates and could see it pretty well. The main stage/float is high enough you can see wahts going on even if you are standing in the back. Lots of monsters inc. characters.
