I was trying to put off getting an AP for as long as possible, due to money issues. I was just wondering if anyone knew if and when the prices were going to go up. ANY information about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have thought the same thing, but I am certain there would be no announcement, it would just happen

I just read today that WDW's AP rates went up at the first of the year (in 2005.) I don't know if that holds true for all Disney properties but since you don't have any answers yet, I thought I'd toss that in.

I will tell you this much.... they won't go down!

If you look back over the last few years there seems to be at least 1 increase a year.

My friend told me that his AP friend said the SC AP is going up to $199. this is the rumor I am hearing.

They can go up on July 20th, AFTER I get mine :)

My Deluxe Annual Pass that I just got on March 16 was $209 without parking, but since I got parking, add on another $50!

The price Increase is closer than you think. I would not count on making it out of April with the current rates. My prediction:

So Cal - $199
Deluxe - $275
Premium - $399

isn't the premium $399 now? or close to it?

The last increase (last October, Premium AP $279 -> $329) was accompanied with a two day notice in the newspaper.... if my Mother was not one of those types who cuts out every article and saves it for me, I wouldn't have known about it, and would have bought my passes around Xmas... as originally planned. It saved me $200 (4 passes), but I had to decide quickly... don't tell my Mother that one of her articles actually saved me money... she'll start clipping even more!!! :p

Mmmm, can I ask how reliable this info is? My passes expire in July. I'm going to guess Disney won't complain if I renew early? I was planning on taking a year off but DH and I have been waiting for AGES to ride Space Mountain and I hate to let our passes expire without riding. Our passes expire july 7 so it doesn't look like I'm going to ride unless we renew or go after our APs expire!

If I am not mistaken you can only renew 30 days prior to your experation.

If anybody actually thinks that Disney is going to enter the 50th Celebration Year, which begins on May 5...with the New Fireworks, Parade & Space Mountain, then they are being naive.

Just like they did last year, they are waiting for the Spring Break period to end, and they will raise them prior to the start of the Summer Season. Plus, in this case, they will probably raise them before the Official Kickoff on May 5. If nothing happens between now and then, I will be Shocked! Luckily, mine were just renewed.

But they just raised the prices.  I can't afford inflation every year! I understand if they need to raise the prices every so often to help pull a steady income in for park maintenance and what not, but not a raise every stinking year.

When passes are renewed by mail, how long does it take to receive the new passes back?

Follow me on this thought process for a sec:
Ours expire 5-23 but we will be there 5-13 to 5-21. In order to beat the supposed price increase I could mail my request on 4-19 but would I have the new passes back in time before our trip? That would give them three weeks from the time they receive the request for me to receive the passes.

We live local to Disneyland, and it usually takes about a week for our renewals to come back in the mail.

Thank goodness ours were just renewed. We luck out because my mother in law renews them for us as our Christmas present.

They raised them twice last year..I just renewed, but this may be my last AP. Iwould rather take that money and out it towards a real vacation. (real in my mind = flying somwhere...like NY, carribean, europe..:))

We will likely renew this year as well, but are considering taking a break after that. We would really like to take a trip to Scotland and Ireland and we'd probably have a better change of saving up for that if we weren't always running off to Disneyland! ;)
