Just read Al's column over at MiceAge. After you get by the silly (stupid) April Fools Casino story, there is some real news about the subs. According to Al next week we will see walls going up around the old motorboat lagoon and the sub lagoon as well.

Good news. Now lets get the Peoplemover, an e-ticket replacement for Innoventions, and a Frontierland expansion into the Big Thunder Ranch/Hunchback theater area and we're all set.

Fingers crossed!

What will they do in the motorboat cruise area? I haven't heard anything that might happen in that area.

And how about a limited engagement return of the Keel Boats for the 50th, and a PERMANENT return of Ft. Wilderness (complete with OPEN snack bar), the burning cabin on the Rivers of America, and, well, if a new Skyway's not feasible, some other brilliant use of the beautiful Fantasyland Skyway station :~D

Exactly! I think the skyway building should be replaced with a Beauty and the Beast dark ride.

As for the motorboat lagoon, prehaps they will make that area into the que for the subs? It would be nice to take some of the crowding out by the autotopia and monorail by moving the cue to the motorboat area. Just a thought.

Not much considering that most of it is now Autopia.

I think the Motorboat area is just that little pier and that's it right?

No there is a whole area behind it.

Maybe they will make that area the new loading area so the station wont be in TL. Because a nemo ride doesnt really go with TL.

I agree, this would be a good idea to move loading toward fantasyland. But I have to think that could be prohibitivly expensive, but maybe not.

Here's an idea, but I would think it unlikely because it might take some major construction.

What if they make the motorboat area, where fantasia gardens is the entry way for the subs, and build a show building around it to look like a cave entrance. You load on the subs and they use the old motorboat lagoon paths for underwater show scenes. Instead of stopping at the little half wall that divides the sub lagoon from the motorboat lagoon, do some work and have the subs flow directly into the current cave area which is close by.

Then the subs circle through the sub lagoon on the way back.

What would be really cool is if they could rearrange the track in the sub lagoon, so that the Nemo subs cut more toward the middle. Then over where the old sub loading area was in TL we get a Nautilis replica. Sweet.

Not possible. The motorboat cruise water and the sub water actually has a dividing wall. If you look at the autopia long straight track next to the lagoon, underneath it is the dividing wall. I also doubt that they would spend the extra money to re-do the track and tear down the large wooden docking area.

As for the motorboat cruise area, much of the waterway does intertwine with the autopia track. I personally fell they should cut back the track and also use the large meet and great area of small world mall and re-use that large piece of property for something. Only problem is the spagetti loop of the monorial which would get in the way of any large structure. (I wander if those pieces of track could be removed and re-use to add an extenstion of the monorial to a new platform near the paradise pier hotel although they are probably mostly circular tracks)
Either that or bring back some boats and ad some clever theming around the waterway.

Then they could tear down the innovention building and add a "guide to hitchhikers attraction in there. but thats another story

You are right about the wall, but it seems like they could easily get rid of the wall should they choose to.

neither does a submarine voyage in general. or a bunch of cars. :| or star wars which actually takes place 'a long, long time ago.' and one could really make an argument against BLAB. maybe since DCA turned into a DL annex exploiting all the pixar properties, TL will soon take over and become PL.

The water depths are not the same.

This information though seams a bit strange. Why would they want to add construction walls to start work on Nemo around that whole area without affecting Autopia during a time when they need as much attractions open as possible for the crowds. I will need to investigate this a bit. The only thing i could think about is that they would put walls around the old motorboat.fantasia gardens area for refurbishment and possibly walls around the actuall lagoon to be able to start some prep work.

Yes the water depths are different, but they don't have to be.

They drain both lagoons, knock out the wall, and then make the needed fixes in the motorboat lagoon for it to happen. Doesn't seem like it would be impossible, but maybe expensive.

The Skyway Station would make a nice meet and greet for Bell and the Beast and free up some space around the Snow White meet and greet area. That gets so bottle necked. :)
