Miniaturist Robert Olszewski released the latest figures in his "Disneyland in Miniature" collection this weekend, and gave collectors a sneak peek at future releases. The new releases were the Hat Shop / Opera House / Main Street Bank complex, and the Market House / Disneyana / Main Street Cinema complex. The first Princess Accessory Pack, including Belle, Cinderella, Show White and Sleeping Beauty & Prince was also introduced. If you were unable to attend the release in person, you can order the new sculptures via the Disney Gallery Web site (http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x19894f95a&varPage=location) starting Monday morning.

A table in front of the Disneyana shop held the growing Disneyland in Miniature display, along with prototypes of upcoming releases. The first off-Main Street figure, the Mad Tea Party, will be offered on July 16th. Olszewski is also working on a Haunted Mansion building that will come with three interchangable scenes. By removing the wall at the back of the sculpture, collectors will be able to install three show scenes - the elevator and portait hall, the ballroom scene and the graveyard.

Olszewski also debuted a prototype of the new technology which will allow Main Street vehicles and even miniature parade floats to travel up and down the miniature street.

Re: princess accessory pack released today - We'd noticed from the picture of the pack that some of the princesses looked a bit more well-fed than normal. Belle looks much better in person, but Snow White sure looks like she's put on a few pounds.

The Haunted Mansion prototype was really cool, even in its paper/foam form. The rep also mentioned that there's a device in the piece where you'll be able to see the stretching portraits.

It was fun to watch the mechanism moving the vehicles. The rep said that the intention was to be able to duplicate the Main Street Electrical Parade, with floats that actually light up. That would be amazing.

Main Street Train Station: $245

So I guess even with the increased price of the castle, we're abandoning the "nothing will cost more than the castle" earlier promise? They really ought to never have said that in the first place.

Even though they don't have firm dates, they did say they have tentative releases for a few other pieces:

December 2005 - Penny Arcade, Mark Twain, City Hall and Mr. Lincoln hosts and hostesses character pack, Main Street fruit cart vendor

March 2006 - Haunted Mansion
