Uh, that's not new. Or do you mean a new pin set?

I was advised that the "free" pin program is new, as it now allows you to receive a pin for EVERY $15 in purchases..not just one pin if the total amount of your purchase is over $15.

It's always been that way.

Thanks for the info!

The reason I posted this as it was explained to me that the receive a pin for each and every $15 in pin purchases on the first Sunday of the month was different than in previous years.

You must be a pin trader/collector?

Sadly, yes. More of a collecter then a trader, and I don't do the GWP thing. But boy do I hear about it.

I was at DCA this past week and the GWP is a Tinkerbell. It's real cute. I am not usually a GWP collector either but I was buying pins anyway and saw these. If you get a chance you might want to check it out. This is the only GWP I own. I don't trade just collect my favorites.

Pardon my ignorance, but as a Tink lover and non-pin trader, what's "GWP?"

cemeinke... gwp stands for Gift With Purchase, it means if you buy a total of 15 dollars worth of pins you get the tink pin free, but I know other people who have bought 15 dollars of other merchandise and gotten the gwp pin free, I guess it depends on the CM at the time of purchase.

Thanks mammasilva, I guess I'll have to go to Disneyland today and check it out (As if I needed another reason :) )

I remember getting some cupon in my news letter a while ago (isn't it time for another one of those yet?), and I heard it was a tinkerbell pin, so are they just trying to get rid of the things?

I have been told the GWP's were made just for this program. I am not sure if it's the same one with the coupon. A CM member at the Pin Trader told me there is a series of these and he showed me his collection. They seem to been quite a bit smaller than most pins. My freind got Snow White last month and she is smaller that another Snow White that I have. But I'm not an expert on the history since I only collect my favorite characters or rides.

The GWP pin on Sunday was Tigger not Tinkerbell.

On 01/02/02 I was giving a Tinkerbell at a shop in DCA. I don't normally ask for the GWP's but I asked how to get the Tinkerbell in the draw behind the counter and she looked it up and said it was a GWP for this month. Did you get a Tigger? I am not a trader so I don't keep track of the GWP's. Maybe the CM looked at the wrong flier. But that's fine with me because I was after the Tinkerbell. Maybe it was fate, since Tinkerbell is a favorite of mine.

The Tinkerbell pin was a AP pin ,limit one per AP and not part of a set. The monthly GWP pin set is titled 100 acre wood- six pins, the first was Tigger this past Sunday. The only way you were supposed to get the Tinkerbell was with a pin purchase and a coupon in the AP newsletter.

Wow! I guess I did luck out. I have an AP but I don't remember seeing a newsletter with a coupon. Maybe the CM was new and didn't know either. I did purchase over $60.00 in pins for me and my kids but she never asked for a coupon. Did the newsletter come from Disney? I have only gotten one since I got my AP in July 2001. It's the Fall 2001 issue.

Thanks for the info on the pins.

You can go to www.pinpics.com, click on search and type in the pin number 5750 the Tinkerbell pin you got should come up with info about it ,also www.dizpins.com is a nice Disney pin site.
I have seen AP,s get the pin without the coupon but once you get it your name goes in a book so you can't get it again.
