I just received my invite for the 50th Celebration on May 4th, 2005 at Disneyland!(Media-Day)What should I expect? Crowded? Anyone know what's on tap for that day? Thanks!! The invite actually has several dates lined up to choose from (2,3,4 of May) Do you think each day will be the same?

You are so lucky!!! I'm envious. The buzz is that celebs are invited to the park on the 4th. Let us know how it goes and have a great time!

I take it you are a credentialed member of the media and your invite is not from that Annual Passport contest? But your profile there suggest you're a Cast Member. So I'm confused.

Are you sure they are not inviting you to WORK that day ;)

:) That's what I was thinking.

And really, that wouldn't be that strange. They often ask Cast Members to work as Media Escorts at these things. Maybe that's what this "invite" is?

Anyway...I doubt it's the Annual Pass thing as I seem to recall from a past post that Registration is continuing through April 19th or something like that. And it would be awful strange to see them issuing Annual Pass invites before Registration ends.

The tone of the original poster is that of a Guest, or at least it seems that way to me. So I remain confused.

I have a personal interest in this, as I often get formally invited to these things, and I want to know if invites have gone out so I can start rattling the cages if I don't get one! I know it's not good form to beg for an invite, but hey...it's Disneyland's 50th! So it's not beneath me to beg or call in a favor or two. ;)

Maybe they are inviting some cast members? Although this gesture would be a little to nice for Disney's taste...... Might make it look like they treat their cast members well :p

What I want to know is what happens if someone wins the "AP contest" but does not have a current AP. I am registered and can continue to log into the AP section of the disneyland website but my AP expired in April 04.

I'm sure they'll check their database list of APs to make sure they are all current. You may even have to scan in at the gate.

I have another question ...I'm registered, but when I renewed my AP bar code # changed...so the site still has my old bar code that was expired and I can't figure out how to update it....??

I actually asked Matt Ouimet in an email about the ID num on our AP cards. I knew he would not answer, but I got a phone call back from a David who said that the last 10 (or was it 11) digits of your ID card are ALWAYS the same. he first 12 or so numbers change every time you renew. So - in actuality, they know who you are from your first entry.

Would this be true even if you did not "renew" but got a new AP months later? Meaning when I get my new AP in July will they know that I previously had an AP and give me the same last numbers?

I can't tell you exactly since I did not ask that specific question - but I would guess not if you ask for New instead of Renew. During the process of renewal they scan your card first and then ask all the info (keep the photo? address the same? etc.)

i am sur that when they entered your information in their database, the old information popped up since you probably had the same address and same picture i'd

I figured that but I also know that it seems that Disney keeps pretty close tabs on their guests so....
Also, I just looked at my Daughters and My old AP' s and they have the exact same #'s except the last digit, which of course are sequential.

what was interesting in my phone call was that the notion of tailoring mailings and promotions to specific audiences was something they had thought about but not yet implemented. It seems that all AP holders are lumped together as one demographic. You;d think they would use something a little more sophisticated to slice and dice the marketing angles. I guess this will occur when SAP gets implemented at the DLR (has gone in last year at WDW). but I digress..

If you have an AP go to Disney site and register (sign up??) and you will be entered into a contest that they have - I think it is 2500 AP (which I am not) will be invited to visit DL on May 4th.

I just wanted to know what a 2500 AP is. My kids have AP's so I am wondering if they can go. I will have a delux pass next week.

PS by the way your little boy in the picture is so cute! Have you ever thought of modeling for him? My daughter is a actress, Model, and a singer and I have a good eye!

You lucky, lucky, lucky person! I haven't received any invitation. In fact I haven't even received my AP newsletter yet! I should have received the newsletter three weeks ago.

I think that poster meant to say: 2500 APers, and each one can bring one guest with them... for a total of 5000 people.
