I'm hoping some people will be comfortable discussing this info. I know not everyone wants to talk money- no problem.

We just took our first ever trip. Family of 5, we flew from NV (5 plane tickets) , 4 nights at an off-site hotel, (plus one night hotel prior to our flight- we live 2.5 hrs from the airport), transportation from SNA to hotel, 4-4 day parkhoppers, and of course food and souviners. We spent somewhere in the range of $2,200- give or take a few pennies. That was actually less than we predicted.

I'd like to plan another trip to DL w/our family and my husband's parents. I'm just curious how much money you try to plan for. Thanks.

without food and souvenirs, my 10 day socal trip (to all places below) is running me somewhere between $1300-$1500.

i can't really isolate disney since my 3 day hopper is coming through citypass (which i paid $165 for), but i have either hojo for ~$160 for 3 nights or carousel for ~$180. i've budgeted for the fantasmic buffet which I believe is $53 and might go into DL the night before for another $53, so i guess DL is costing me roughly $400 or so for 4 days/3 nights. before food and shopping.

oh, and i guess it's fair to include airfare, which is about $240 'round trip', so if i was going to DL alone, it'd be fair to say it's costing me $650 or so, maybe $800 when all is said and done.

Gosh. That's a matter of luck (what promotions are going on). Okay. Not counting airfaire, transportation, hotel rooms and tips, and tickets. We plan $20 per day per kid spending money. Once it's gone, it's gone. No complaining. We plan $80-$100 per day for food for a family of 4. We plan $500 per trip for parent souveneirs. Typically we come home with money to spare.

Since I have an AP maybe 50-100. Depending on what I eat and buy at the park. Otherwise, no plane tickets needed, or hotel. I live in Santa Monica so its pretty close. Guess a bit lucky

It really depends on several issues. There are 2 of us and on our cheapest 4-day visit, we spent less than $650. Our upcoming 4-day July 17th trip, we have estimated that we will spend around $2,200. Mind you, both of these trips include driving from Phoenix (rather than flying). Our other DL trips, fall somewhere in the middle.

Pokey :)

Airfare for three from Alaska, ground transporation to resort, 6 nights at DLH, 3 3-day passes comes to about $2700 - this doesn't include food and stuff while we are there. That is being estimated at an additional $1050. We could save $1000 by staying offsite, (like we usually do), but we are staying onsite due to the 50th. :p

Usually airfare from Phoenix to The Duke runs $25 to $30 ish each way (so $100 - $150)

Cab fare $30 to and from the airport ($60)

We have APs so no tix

Hotel is rarely over $80 a night (so lets just say 4 days $320ish)

food? we only eat out once a day, other than that we usually bring food for breakfasts and snacks. But lets say $50 a day (and thats probably high)

So we are at about $750 give or take. *shrugs*

We're doing it on the cheap as much as possible. Family of 6, driving instead of flying, so gas will be about $150-200. Hotels (6 nights) about $750, using mgr specials, online discounts, and prepay discounts. Three-day park-hoppers about $450, using Kids Free special. Parking is free, and hotels all have continental breakfasts and fridge/micro. Other non-Disney entrance fees and parking about $100. We're figuring about $1500, plus food. Maybe $2000 total. I hate to think what it would cost if we flew, and stayed on-site. Ouch!

Doing a budget-minded trip April 23-27. Driving from Phoenix, staying at Ho-Jo, three-day parkhoppers with kids get in free . . . Total for our family will be around $750 including food/gas.

We're going again in December, and that will probably be a more expensive trip - around $1,000.

I feel like a fool after reading everyone else's costs. Our 2 week SoCal trip cost about $4,000-$4,500. This included airfare for 4 from Portland, OR to Ontario, 6 nights at HoJo's, 4 5-day Parkhoppers, 2 nights at Newport Beach, a minivan for 2 weeks and all our food and souvenirs. We never had any meals in the park and only snacked in the park 3 times. We ate at Mimi's Cafe and McDonald's several times and once at Outback.

Our airfare, Parkhoppers, hotel and car alone were about $2,200 for six nights.

DH and I are going to have a tough time when we go in the fall and have to live on a TIGHT budget. We won't be taking the kids and will stay in a cheap hotel/motel but we are going to eat inside the park. I also think we are going to drive and save on airfare and car rental.

$900 - $1,000 for 5 days / 4 nights, that has been the cost of our DL vacation for the past 4 years. That figure includes Airfare for two, hotel and park hoppers. We spend at least $100 dollars a day on food and extras!

We are splurging on our next trip, staying 4 nights at the Grand with concierge service, and a 4 day hopper, total for me is $672. My airfaire was $96 round trip. We will be taking a limo which will cost me about $20 each way. Plus spending money & food, I am looking at about $1500 just for me, but like I said we are splurging.

Last year I spent about $1000 on my 5 day trip, just for me!

We are AP holders, and drive down from Northern California, so that reduces our cost some. But we always stay on-site, and we don't skimp on food, so that more than makes up for it.

We are going for three nights in early June. Our hotel will be around $750 (assuming they don't announce any AP special rates we can take advantage of), and we will probably spend $100 - $150 per day on food (we like to eat, and a leisurely 90 minute dinner makes for a nice break after a hectic afternoon).

We go 2-3 times per year, so we don't generally purchase too many souveniers, although we always seem to need to buy a new pirate sword for our son.

Altogether, we will probably spend close to $1500 for three nights and almost five full days (we leave home early, and head back home late) for three of us.

$7972 for 16 of us coming down for 8 days and 7 nights in August.
2 children under 2 years of age so pretty much free.
4 children under the age of 8
one 12 year old - so pretty much considered an "adult"

Included:
We have packages from WDT with 6 day hopper passes.
Are staying off site
14 airline tickets @ $167 from Seattle to Long Beach
4 Rental cars for 3 days (so we can run down to SeaWorld and it is our transportation of all of us from LB airport to hotel and then re-rent and drive our selves back)
Gas (about a three hour drive to airport) long term parking for 3 vehicles at Seatac airport

Not included is food and spending money

Our next trip is set for December. 8 nights at the GCH $1200. We already own AP's. And depending on where we eat while there we make sure to have at least $500 for food and goodies.

For us our trip in Dec. is about $1800. That is airfare for 4 from Milwaukee to LAX 3- 3 day hoppers, minivan for a week. Fortunately our hotel is taken care of, since my parents have a time share and are allowing us to use it for the one in Anaheim. With food and souveneirs I would say about $2500.
