I've already looked at HoJo's and there are no rooms there on April 1-4.

Any other suggestions?

We like the Anaheim Del Sol, it's close, and inexpensive, and was remodeled a couple of years ago. All of the rooms have been non-smoking since the remodel.

We also use the Anaheim Plaza a lot -- it's an older property and sort of run down, but the staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful, the pool is large, and the restaurant inside is good.

I just stayed at the Desert Palms last week. See my trip report for some info. The Candy Cane Inn is right behind the Desert Palms. It looked really nice & tidy from the outside (that can be deceiving though.) We liked the fact that the Candy Cane had their own hotel shuttle that went to and from the parks. I've heard ok things about the Best West Park Place Inn too.

I think it depends on what you want out ouf a motel. For us, it's a place to sleep. As long as it's clean and the service is friendly, we're happy.

I had the same experience when I was looking at Easter weekend -- the Desert Inn wanted the same price as the DL Hotel! Don't forget that there will be an added $10 resort fee per night, even so, I'd say it's worth it!

I thought they were all booked for those dates  If you have info on where to get a DL hotel for those dates at $109 (or ever higher) please share - We would be grateful. :)

I wouldn't describe the Del Sol as clean. When we stayed there two years ago there were ants in the shower, the toilet lid was cracked and falling off, and the carpet was so dirty it left your socks black.

But the rooms were big. I will give them that.

That sounds disgusting. When I visit DL, unless staying at an on-site property, I'm all about two things: being close and clean. I don't care about anything else. If you can't give me clean, forget it. I don't care how cheap the hotel is.

We're staying at the Carousel in December for the first time. I hope it's at least clean.

re: cc's request

best most inexpensive hotel i can identify for 4/1-4/4 is vagabond executive which i believe is like 2 1/2 miles away, hotelclub.com lists it for $80/night.

candlewood is available through their website at $80/night

park vue on hotelkingdom for $450 total

and bwppi on travelworm for $122/night (every other site shows 4/1 as being $400 for the night alone).

Wow! That's a deal. For that small difference, stay at the DLH. The ambience would be worth it. How'd you find that great rate?:-)

Just a heads up, not that we've ever stayed at the HoJo personally, but I do know that if you call them directly and ask for the MouseSavers rate and mention the pad you can get a much better rate than you'll find on the websites.

bradk

you can get the mousesavers rate online as well. however, that only works when there are rooms available. i believe it's 15% off their lowest public rate and often enough, the online agencies / consolidators can easily compete with those rates if not beat them.

the entertainment rate is the best possible with hojo, but that's also subject to availability.

I stayed at the Del Sol 6 months ago and had no problems. It's hit and miss with the less expensive places, I guess.

I stayed at the Anaheim Coast Hotel once. It was nice for the super cheap price. Like 60 bucks or something. Clean and you could see the fireworks from the room.
