The new logs are totally new and redisgned, holds 6 or 7 people, and has a pull up seat in the back to allow wheelchair access...

There are also other photos of the logs...

Interesting design. I wonder if they will deflect any random sprays or waves of water to avoid the riders getting drenched legs from the log taking on water.

I only see 6 possible seat backs -- if they allow 7 people does that mean that one of the seats can hold 2?

Yes, that's the purpose of the back seat.

Yes, that's the purpose of the back seat. You forgot to insert a ";)" after that line. Just kidding. :D

Yes, that's the purpose of the back seat.

i think the back seat may actually primarily serve another purpose, but i guess when they don't need it for that, it can be used for 2.

Does this mean they won't have the single rider line anymore?

Finally we can get wet again due to the weight. When it was 7 I remember we used to get drenched, but when they made it 5 it really diminished it. Hopefully this will be reversed when it returns to 7.

I guess the track is too narrow for a two-across configuration.

I don't see that back seat allowing a wheelchair be placed ON the ride, but I do see that back seat making it easier for mobility imparied to be able to get in/out of the log much easier, and let's face it, that roomy back seat will allow the more generously endowed behinds (like MINE)more room on the ride!

The photos show some of the ride dummies wrapped in a blue cloth (looks kind of like those furniture moving pads you can get from U-Haul). I wonder if that's just to hold them in snug or if it's a way to see how much water splashes on them?

Great photos!!! I can't get to the Magic Kingdom until November but I get my fix with your photos. My family can NOW all fit in a log for a photo. The last photo was in 1998 and my youngest was in the womb(in the photo of my wife). Now we can get a picture of everybody going down the flume. Thanks Darkbeer

I am confused about the back seat being "pulled up." What is that for?

I do like the back seat though for those with little ones. I would rather have my son sitting next to me than in front of me.

All the "loaded" test logs I've seen running have 2 "dummies" in the back seat.

yes i know. because it can be used for 2 separate people. or individuals who might need the additional space for whatever reason.

If the seat raises up it will allow someone to transfer directly from a wheelchair on the loading platform to the seat.

I sort of doubt that could fit two people, and if it could wouldn't it be a safety hazard? I am thinking that is for the people with alittle extra padding (if you know what i mean... like they bring a pillow around with... u know what i mean) and for people with disabilities.

they look really nice..... let me just say right now that i am not about to fit my big hips into those back seat... no no no... let me just say ouch!! i will sit in one of the seats in the row, thank you.... i'd rather wait for the next boat than sit in the back. just my opinion though.

i think the blue padding is so the busts don't scratch or damage the inside of the newly refinished logs.
