Wow! This endeavor sounds really cool. I can hardly wait for your first release about my absolute fave extinct attraction! Wish I could help out, but besides possessing excellent writing skills and a keen knowledge of Disneyland history, I have none of the technical skills, CM experience, collectaholic passions, visual archives or presentation equipment specified in the original post. As such, I will have to be content to remain an ardent supporter, but will gladly lend a hand in any way that my pathetic status a mere mortal fan may allow.

Skyway sounds great! You might want to contact news agencies, since every time the Skyway got stuck for a long time (which happened quite often) they always reported it on the news....they might have some fantastic Disneyland footage.

Gosh, I wish I had something to contribute! We weren't a camera family, still or motion.....

Do you have a website?

This probably wouldn't fit with-in the spirt of your web-site, however I thought I'd share!

I found a video tape of a Disneyland commerical (cira 1996?) that showed the MSEP gliding down an empty main street (it was watered down so the lights would shine off the reflection) and an annoucer stating the parade was going .. (pause) away.... (pause) forever (ho-down music stops).

I have a book of postcards.....I'm guessing it's pre '82 since the autopia isn't on tracks and the matterhorn has only 1 car.

You're going to have to give me some time to dig them out, but I have a photo album of pictures taken around the park around 1969 1970 (when I was a CM). Most are pictures of CM's that I knew (or entertainers) but there might be a few good ones showing the park in it's Glory! How do I get them to you when I find them?

Let me know if you're interested in a video shot by a CM on the old SkyWay. They did a music video called "Bucket Man" to the tune of Elton John's "Rocket Man". I have a friend who has a copy... E-mail me if you want me to try and get it. It has a lot of footage of the loading areas.

I've got some 8mm home movie footage of a trip around 1965. It's been awhile since I've seen it but I believe it has some Flying Saucer and Mine Train scenes.

Anyone have any advice on converting old home movies to an electronic medium?

Well there are professional places that do transfers, I think some do go to dvd also. But if you get it transfered to VHS and you have the hardware (do they still make "Snappy"?) you could save it to your comp.
